Information will not be withheld at the requests of persons whose names appear in the blotter or elsewhere in the newspaper that are released by law enforcement agencies that include the WPCSO, Nevada Highway Patrol, Ely Shoshone Tribal Police and other local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement agencies.

JULY 8

Report of a motorist assist — Officer contacted the operator who was having mechanical problems with his vehicle. Assistance was provided.

Report of a suspicious subject — Reporting party stated that an individual came into their place of business and was acting strange. Officer contacted the individual and reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the individual and reported that she was fine.

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that a juvenile was throwing rocks at her home. The juvenile and his parent were contacted and advised of the problem. The juvenile denied the allegation.

Report of a missing person — Reporting party stated that his stepson was supposed to be in the Reno, NV area, but he hasn’t heard from him for several days. Officer contacted the responsible agency and the Investigation continues.

Report of a dog bite — Officer received a report of a child that had been bitten by the family dog. The child received medical attention at E.R. A report was completed.

Report of unlawful dumping — Reporting party stated that an individual was operating a vehicle towing a camp trailer and that the camp trailer was leaking sewage. The individual had stopped at the reporting parties’ place of business and sewage had leaked onto the property. The reporting party was cleaning it up. The area was patrolled, but the responsible party was not located.

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that a juvenile was throwing rocks into his yard. Officer contacted the parent and the juvenile and advised them of the problem. The juvenile denied the allegation.

Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that she was receiving unwanted text messages from her ex-husband. The reporting party was advised to block his number and to stop sending the ex-husband text messages.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that an individual had removed some of his property. Officer contacted the individual who stated that he removed the items due to they were blocking the steps to his apartment. The items were returned.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that his neighbor has come to his home several times threatening to do harm to him if he doesn’t give him drugs. The reporting party wanted the incident documented. A report was completed.

Report of a barking dog — Officer reported that the owner of the dog was on her way to the residence to take care of the problem.

JULY 9

Report of an arrest — While a deputy was on foot patrol in the downtown area, he observed a male and female conversing in a local tavern.  It was later discovered that the female had an active order for protection against the male, later identified as 30 year old Ely resident Devin Todd Hutchison.  Hutchison was arrested for violating the court order.

Report of a search and rescue operation — A local man was injured after being bucked off of his horse in a rural area.  The man was later located and life-flighted from the area.

Report of a business alarm — A business alarm was accidentally set off by an employee.

Report of a welfare check — The subject was located and requested medical attention.  He was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Report of fraud — The reporting party claimed an unknown person made unauthorized charges on his credit card. A report was completed.

Report of an abandoned vehicle — The reporting party claimed a vehicle had been abandoned in front of his residence.  The vehicle was redtagged for removal.

Report of a warrant arrest — 29 year old Ely resident Heather Renee Carrasco was arrested for an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a juvenile problem — The reporting party claimed her juvenile daughter was sneaking out of the house to meet with her adult boyfriend.  The boyfriend was contacted and advised he was trespassed from the reporting party’s home.

Report of a juvenile problem — The reporting party claimed to have discovered a juvenile stuck in a culvert on private property.  The juvenile was able to free himself and then fled the area.  The reporting party wanted the juvenile trespassed from the area.  Officers were unable to locate the juvenile.

Report of a warrant arrest — 19 year old Winnemucca resident Raelynn Nicole Mitchell was arrested on a warrant from Ely Municipal Court.  Search incident to arrest, the officer discovered Mitchell was in possession of a controlled substance, for which she was also charged.

Report of fraud — The reporting party claimed several charges had been made to his bank account which he had not authorized.  The investigation continues.

Report of a dog problem — The reporting party claimed he was walking his dog on a leash when a female with two unleashed dogs aggressively approached him.  He claimed to have grabbed the dogs and told their owner to control the dogs.  The other subject yelled at him and then left the area.  The officer was unable to locate the other person.

Report of a domestic dispute — The parties were contacted and it was discovered the altercation was only verbal.  Both parties separated for the night.

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party claimed to have heard a male subject yelling from several houses away.  The male was contacted and found to be intoxicated.  He was warned about disturbing the peace.

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party advised a man was in their yard causing a disturbance.  The male was identified as, 31 year old Ely resident Walter Robert Kennedy.  Kennedy was intoxicated and continued to use loud and tumultuous language.  Kennedy was arrested for disturbing the peace.

Report of a music disturbance — The disturbance could not be located.

JULY 10

Report of sick dog — Officer received a report of a dog that was ill and needed medical attention. Officer contacted the owner of the dog who made arraignments to have it taken to the vet.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen two trees that had been recently planted at the McGill Park. The incident was documented.

Report of a disturbance — Reporting party stated that his neighbor was playing his drums to loud. Officer contacted the neighbor and the situation was resolved.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen his medication from his home. The incident was documented.

Report of a barking dog — Officer contacted the owner of the dog and advised him about the complaint.

Report of a suspicious subject — Officer contacted the individual who had been sitting inside his vehicle for a long period of time. The individual advised he was doing work in the area. No crime had occurred.

JULY 11

Report of a noise disturbance — Officer contacted the individual and advised him to turn his music down.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Jesse Matta age 31 of Glendale, AZ was arrested for driving suspended and on a Moapa Justice Court warrant.

Report of a suspicious subject — Officer received a report of an individual looking in vehicles. The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

Report of a suspicious subject — Officer received a report of an individual walking on a rural roadway. The individual was contacted who had an argument with a friend and was walking home.

Report of a child custody problem — Reporting party stated that he had an argument with his girlfriend and she took their child in common and left the residence. The mother and child were contacted and were fine. Both parties were advised the child would stay with the mother.

Report of possible child abuse — Reporting party stated that while her child was visiting his father in another city she believes he was abused. Investigation continues.

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the individual and reported that he was fine.

Report of possible drug use — Officer received a report of possible drugs being used at a local apartment. Officer contacted the occupants and reported that one of them was smoking marijuana. He was issued a citation for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

JULY 12

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Austin M. Garcia age 21 of McGill was arrested on an Ely Justice Court warrant.

Report of a suspicious subject — Officer received a report of an individual standing on a street corner yelling. The person was contacted and advised to keep the peace.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who were arguing over choirs that needed to be done in the home. The parties involved were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the individual and reported that she was taken to E.R. for medical care.

Report of a reckless driver — Officer received a report of two vehicle racing on a public street. Officer contacted the operators of the vehicles and advised them of the complaint. A warning was issued.

Report of an accident/private property — Teresa Dicianno of Ely was operating a vehicle and was backing up. She failed to see a vehicle behind her belonging to Brigham Bliss of McGill. Dicianno’s vehicle struck Bliss’s vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated while in a local parking lot she could hear a woman yelling no. The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Report of a barking dog — Officer located the barking dogs and advised the owner of the complaint.

Report of a noise disturbance — Officer received a report of an individual yelling while standing on a public street. Officer contacted the individual who went home for the evening.

JULY 13

Report of a dog problem — Officer received a report of a dog that was killing chickens. The reporting party had shot at the dog, but was uncertain if she had hit it. The area was patrolled, but the dog was not located. Officer reported that an investigation into the discharging of the firearm is being investigated.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — officer contacted the owner of the vehicle who stated that it had ran out of gas. The owner was making arraignments to remove the vehicle.

Report of a fraud — Reporting party stated that someone had gained access to his credit card and had made several charges. The reporting party had made a report with is banking establishment.

Report of a bad check — Reporting party had received a check for services, but when it was deposited it came back insufficient funds. The check was turned over to the City Attorney for prosecution.

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that several juveniles were causing problems with his son. Officer is attempting to contact the parties involved.

Report of a dog at large — Report was given to Ely Animal Control.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that someone had put paint and bleach on her vehicle. Reporting party indicated an individual whom she is having problems with as a possible suspect. Investigation continues.

Report of suspicious subjects — Officer contacted the individuals and reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of a fraud — Reporting party stated that someone had gained access to her debit card and had made several purchases. The reporting party had made a report with her banking establishment.

Report of a possible drunk driver — Officer located the vehicle which was parked an unoccupied.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual keeps coming to her home asking for money and food. Officer located the individual who was trespassing at a home that had been deemed unsafe for occupation. The individual was identified as Arden G. Garlick age 65 of Ely. Garlick was arrested for trespassing.

Report of threats — Reporting party stated that a family member had made a threat towards him. The reporting party wanted the incident documented. A report was completed.

Report of an ATV disturbance — The area was patrolled, but the ATV was not located.

Report of a fraud — Reporting party stated that someone had made several charges on her debit card without her permission. Reporting party had notified her banking establishment.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a barking dog — Officer located the barking dog and a citation will be issued to the owner when located.

JULY 14

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Reporting party stated that a vehicle was following him as he drove around the Ely area. Officer located the vehicle and reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of an accident — Donald Pugmire reported that while operating a vehicle traveling on US 93 he struck a deer causing damage to his vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of property damage — Officer received a report of someone damaging several vehicles at the Vocational Building at the High School. Officer reported that someone had thrown rocks at several vehicle breaking their windows. Investigation continues.

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that she had loaned her vehicle to an individual who had possession of it for over two years. The reporting party now wants the vehicle back. She was advised due to the long period of time this matter would be classified as a civil problem and to work the situation out with the aid of legal counsel.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Charles Odgers age 53 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a reckless driver — Officer located the vehicle and spoke to the owner. He denied the allegation of driving reckless. He was issued a warning.

Report of a violation of a court order — Officer received a report of a violation of a protective order. Officer reported that the order hadn’t been served. No violation had occurred.

Report of a motorcycle being ridden at a park — Officer contacted the parent who was allowing his small child to ride a motorcycle at the park. He was advised to ride elsewhere.

Report of a stolen bicycle — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen her child’s bike. The incident was documented.

Report of a barking dog — The area was patrolled and the officer reported that several dogs were barking due to him patrolling in the area.

Report of an accident — Edward Isenbergh of Ely reported that while operating a vehicle on US 6 he struck a deer causing damage to the vehicle. A report was completed.
