He served honorably in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
Family was the most the important thing to Gene; he loved his children and grandchildren with all of his heart. Spending time with his family brought him great joy.
Gene was well liked by everyone. His sense of humor and laugh made everyone who knew him love him. Gene loved to farm, fish, and travel.
He is survived by his wife Joy of St. George, Utah; son Korey (Mary Ann) of Parowan; son Derek (Lisa) of West Jordan; daughter Andrea Jensen (Brad) of Herriman; daughter Marlene Souza (Marcio) of Las Vegas, 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, two sisters Shana Olson (Kent), Charlotte Jensen (Dennis), and sister-in-law Voris Kemp, plus several step children.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents, older brother Norvin, two wives Deanna Eyre, and Marianne Packard, and son William Craig Kemp.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday August 14th at the LDS Sunset 1st Ward chapel, 82 North Dixie Drive, St. George, with a viewing 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to services. A public viewing will be held in the McGill Ward House, 10 North 4th Street, McGill, Nevada on Saturday August 15th at 10:30 to 11:30 am. Interment will take place in the Ely Cemetery.
