Ely Elks Lodge

District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler George Montgomery will be making his official visitation to Ely Elks Lodge 1469 on Sept. 10. He will be accompanied by his Grand Esquire Robert Carroll PER and Grand Auditor Jake Thiesing PER, with all the visitors to meet with Ely Lodge’s Exalted Ruler Sid Beckwith. All members are invited to attend the meeting, where he will speak on the goals of the current National Leader, Ronald L. Hicks of Fredericksburg, VA.

He will also report on the condition of the lodge and make suggestions for improvement. Montgomery is a 26 year member of the Order of Elks and joined the Order at Fairless Hills Lodge 2023.  He was Exalted Ruler in 1996 and served on many committees. He transferred to North Las Vegas Lodge 2353 in 2003 and was Exalted Ruler of North Las Vegas lodge in 2005-2006. He has served as Nevada State Elks Association State Historian for two years and also served as a NSEA State Trustee for a term of four years. He is married to his wife Pauline and has three grown children living back east.

Montgomery is looking forward to the new challenges and opportunities to serve Elkdom in his position as District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler (South). Montgomery has been appointed for this position of responsibility in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks because of his past dedication to his fraternal lodge and the Nevada State Elks Association. Grand Exalted Ruler Hicks made the appointment official at the 151st annual convention of the Order at Indianapolis, IN in July of 2015.Visiting Elk
