Information will not be withheld at the requests of persons whose names appear in the blotter or elsewhere in the newspaper that are leased by law enforcement agencies that include the WPCSO, Nevada Highway Patrol, Ely Shoshone Tribal Police and other local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement agencies.

SEPT. 2

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who were engaged in a verbal argument. The parties separated for the day.

Report of a dog problem — Officer received a report of a dog that was barking and whining. The owner of the dog was contacted and advised of the problem.

Report of an accident — Christopher Cornutt a juvenile of Ely was operating a vehicle entering into a parked position. As he did so he struck a parked car belonging to Francisco Bautista of Ely. An accident report was completed.

Report of an accident — Officer reported that Richard Willes of McGill was operating a county vehicle and was exiting a garage. As he did so he struck the garage door that was not open completely. A report was completed.

Report of a trespasser — Officer received a report of an individual trespassing on city property. The area was patrolled, but the person was not located.

Report of a deer stuck in a fence — The report was given to NDOW.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a bad check — Reporting party stated that she had received payment by check and when the check was presented to the bank the check had been written on a closed account. The check was turned over to the District Attorney’s Office for collections.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of an ATV problem — Officer received a report of an ATV being operated on a city street. The area was patrolled, but the ATV was not located.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that he left a cell phone at his ex-girlfriend’s home and wanted to retrieve it. There is an active restraining order in affect against the reporting party. He was advised not to contact the ex-girlfriend.

Report of an intoxicated pedestrian — The individual was contacted and was not intoxicated. No crime had occurred.

Report of a welfare check — Officer attempted to contact the individual, but she was not at home.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that her neighbors outside water was spraying onto her car and home. The neighbor was contacted and advised of the problem.

Report of an accident — Stacy Holt of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on US 6 when she struck a deer causing damage to her vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of a fight — The area was patrolled, but no fight was located.

SEPT. 3

Report of an arrest — 31 year old Ely resident Michael James Davis was arrested on an outstanding Ely Justice Court warrant.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — The vehicle was an officer attempting to apprehend a fugitive.

Report of an arrest — 30 year old Ely resident Lucien Harry Leflohic was arrested at his residence for an outstanding warrant.

Report of an arrest — The deputy made contact with the occupant of a vehicle stopped in the roadway.  The occupant, identified as 29 year old Sean Michael Gruda, was later arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

Report of a problem with a subject — The proprietor of a local motel claimed two subjects were trespassing on his property.  Contact was made with the subjects, who left without incident.

Report of property damage — The reporting party claimed an unknown subject broke a window on his vehicle.  A report was completed.

Report of a trespasser — A subject was allegedly trespassing on property which had previously been condemned.  The subject was contacted and left the property.

Report of a battery — A deputy investigated an allegation of battery between two school students.  It was later determined to be unfounded.

Report of a domestic disturbance — When officers arrived, the parties claimed not to have been arguing, but yelling at a child for not listening.

Report of an arrest — 42 year old Ruth resident KC Jones Valdez was arrested on an outstanding Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party claimed to be involved in a quandary with a subject over a civil matter.  Both parties were able to acquiesce without exacerbating the situation.

Report of an ATV disturbance — The subject was found to be riding a scooter, and was warned about following the rules of the road.

Report of an arrest — 30 year old McGill resident Devin Todd Hutchison was arrested on an outstanding Municipal Court warrant.

Report of an arrest — 26 year old Ely resident Charles Patrick White was arrested on an outstanding Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a death — The reporting party claimed to have received information of a death at a home.  Deputies went to the home and contacted the occupant, who advised a family member had died at the hospital earlier in the day.

Report of a dog bite — The reporting party claimed to have been bitten by his girlfriends’ dog.  A report was completed.

SEPT. 4

Report of a theft — Officer received a report of an individual who stole an item from a local store and then fled the area. Officers have identified the individual and are attempting to locate him.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that his two sons live in his home and are destroying it. He was advised to obtain an eviction notice and evict both his sons from his property.

Report of a welfare check — The residence was checked, but the person had moved out.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that someone had used her account to rent movies and now the business where the movies were rented from wants the late fees owed. Officer contacted the owner of the business who provided information on who rented the movies. Investigation continues.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer made contact with several individuals who were arguing over property that was in a repossessed vehicle. Arraignments were made to release the property back to the owner.

Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that she received a letter from a neighbor advising her that her dog barks all the time. The reporting party felt that this was harassment. Officer contacted the sender of the letter and advised him to contact law enforcement if the dogs were barking.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Calvin K. Kennedy age 52 of Ely was arrested for basic speed and DUI #2

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that someone left a solar light by her vehicle. The incident was documented.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual was sleeping and defecating behind his business.. The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

Report of a disturbance — Officer received a report of several individuals arguing. The area was patrolled, but the individuals were not located.

Report of an ATV accident — Officer assisted the Ely ambulance with two individuals who had been involved in a four wheeler accident.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual who was unable to care for himself. Officer located the individual who was exposing himself on a public park bench. The individual was identified as Kolton B. Tilford age 26 of Ely. He was arrested for prohibited acts

Report of a disturbance — Officer contacted several individuals who were working on a motorcycle that had broken down. They were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the two brothers that were involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. The brothers separated for the night.

Report of a possible drunk driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

SEPT. 5

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen a propane tank that they use for their business. The incident was documented.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer received a report of two brothers that had gotten into a physical confrontation. During the officers investigation Brain S. Boots age 41 of Ely and Walter R. Kennedy age 31 of Ely were arrested. Both were arrested for child endangerment. During their altercation they are accused of striking a child.

Report of a death — Officer reported that Rosetta Davis age 55 of Ely died at her residence of natural causes.

Report of a death — Officer reported that Daniel Riggs age 53 of Las Vegas was participating in a paint ball game when he suffered a medical related problem which caused his death. Riggs was transported to E.R. by ambulance, but was pronounced dead by a local doctor.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that she had gotten into an argument with an individual over money. When the individual left her trailer he locked her inside. The reporting party was able to contact a family member to let her out. Officer reported that the individual was contacted and identified as Daren W. Brown age 39 of Ely. Brown was arrested for child endangerment and false imprisonment.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that someone had attempted to start his vehicle by using a screwdriver in the ignition. The incident was documented.

Report of an ATV disturbance — Officer received a report of several motorcycles racing down a roadway. The area was patrolled, but the motorcycles were not located.

Report of an ATV disturbance — Officer located several ATV’S in the area that were parked. Officer contacted the operators and issued them a warning.

Report of a suspicious phone call — Reporting party stated that she received a phone call from an individual who was threatening her over a computer. The reporting party advised she doesn’t even own a computer. The incident was documented.

Report of a fraud — Reporting party stated that someone had gained access to his credit card and had made several unauthorized purchases. A report was completed.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the individuals that were involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. They were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer contacted the parties involved who were arguing over how much rent was owed for a storage unit. The parties involved came to an agreement.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Jennifer Robinson-Randall age 43 of Ely was arrested for obtaining and use of a credit card with owner’s permission.

Report of a drunk driver — Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle and reported that he was not intoxicated.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that someone had strung twine across a roadway. The incident was documented.

Report of a Juvenile Problem

City — officer received a report of several juveniles creating a noise disturbance. The area was patrolled, but no juveniles were located.

Report of an intoxicated subject — Officer located the individual and he was taken to E.R. by ambulance due to medical problems.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of a problem with a subject who was breaking things inside her home. Officer contacted the individual who was intoxicated. She was advised to stop breaking things.

Report of illegal dumping — Officer received a report of an individual illegally dumping tires. The area was patrolled, but nothing was located.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had entered into his place of business while it was closed and stole several items. Investigation continues.

Report of an agency assist — Officer assisted hospital staff with a patient who was causing problems.

Report of an ATV disturbance — Reporting party contacted the operators of the ATV’S and the situation was resolved.

Report of an accident/ private property— Joanne Stratton of Ely was operating a vehicle and was backing up. As she did so she failed to see a vehicle behind her belonging to Carl Brotherton of Lund. Stratton’s vehicle struck Brotherton’s vehicle. An accident report was completed.

Report of a down phone line — Officers contacted ATT and notified them of the problem.

Report of a dog problem — Reporting party stated that her neighbor’s dogs keep coming into her yard. The owners of the dogs were not at home. They will be contacted when they return.

Report of found property — Reporting party located several field radio antennas. They were placed into lost and found.

Report of an accident — Reporting party stated that while his vehicle was parked at his place of employment a company truck backed into his vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of a death — Officer received a report of an individual who had not been seen nor heard from for several days. Upon doing a welfare check on the individual he was found to be deceased. The individual was identified as Albert J. Ablia age 46 of McGill. Ablia was taken to the Clark County Coroners Office to determine his cause of death.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that she had several vehicles stored on her property. She stated that someone had stolen a battery from one of the vehicles and a tire from the other. A report was completed.

Report of threats — Reporting party stated that he is receiving threatening text messages from an individual. Officers contacted law enforcement where the sender of the texts messages lives and advised them to contact him. Investigation continues.

Report of a suspicious subject — Officer contacted the individual and provided him assistance.

Report of an attempted burglary — Officer contacted the reporting party who believed someone had attempted to enter her apartment through a crawl space. Nothing in the apartment had been disturbed. The incident was documented.

Report of a fire — The report was given to Ely BLM.

Report of a suspicious subject — The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. The parties involved were advised to keep the peace.

Report of lost property — Reporting party stated that she stayed at local motel in Ely and when she checked out she left several items in the room. She stated that she contacted the motel and they reported that nothing had been turned in by the cleaning staff. Investigation continues.

Report of lost property — Officer located a bicycle that had been abandoned. The bike was placed into lost and found.

SEPT. 8

Report of an injured elk — Officer located an elk that had been struck by a vehicle and was badly injured. The elk was euthanized and removed from the roadway.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer located the vehicle which was parked alongside the roadway. Officer contacted the operator who was resting. No crime had occurred.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that approximately a week ago she had an argument with her brother and he attempted to hit her. The reporting party was advised to call the Sheriff’s Office when the problem is occurring. The incident was documented.

Report of a trespasser — Reporting party stated that an individual is sleeping in a vacant apartment and wants the individual trespassed. When officers arrived the individual was not located.

Report of a fraud — Reporting party stated that he recently opened an account with a business that he believes is fraudulent. The reporting party terminated the account. The incident was documented.

Report of a civil problem — Reporting party stated that her ex-husband was threatening to call the police over a firearm that each claim belongs to them. The reporting party stated that her ex-husband was going to claim the firearm had been stolen by the reporting party. The incident was documented and the reporting party was advised that the ownership of the firearm was a civil problem.

Report of a disturbance — Officer patrolled the area and located an individual cleaning his yard. No problems were located.

Report of a dog at large — The area was patrolled, but the dog was not located.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that she has been having problems with her husband and that he has been sending her text messages calling her inappropriate names. Officer observed the text messages and reported that both parties were involved in the name calling. The incident was documented.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of underage drinkers — Officer received a report of several underage adults drinking near a local business. The individuals were contacted and none of them had been drinking.
