The 23rd Annual Railroad Valley Days is coming Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Currant Creek Community Center.
Many activities are planned for the day. Starting at 8 a.m. Carl Hanks Memorial RRV Days Half Marathon, 5.5 mile run/walk and a 16-mile bike tour. All participants must pre-register prior to the event, contact Lyn Huston 775-863-0277, 775-863-0256, email@example.com.
A Block Shoot “Bring home the bacon, turkey or ham” clay bird shoot. Shotgun and ammo provided by Railroad Valley Firing Committee. Top six qualify to compete in shoot-out for special prize.
The Country Store will open at noon with a Bake Sale and Silent Auction to benefit The Church of the Holy Spirit. There will be a Baking Contest, Bingo, Sunflower, Pumpkin and 3U Contest, and a Chicken Poop Contest.
Give it a shot, Railroad Valley Days Photo Contest. All photos must have been taken in Railroad Valley – includes Duckwater and Currant Creek. Entries must be in by noon on Oct. 3. Call 702-645-2929 for more info.
Starting at 2 p.m. there will be Horseshoes, Bingo, Kids Games and a Baking Contest. Later in the evening a raffle and auction will be held, and at 8:30 p.m. a dance with the Southern Knights Band.
Everyone is invited to come out the Currant Creek and enjoy a fun-filled day. Take Highway 6 West for 50 miles.
