On Sept. 22 the White Pine County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a local business that had received a counterfeit one hundred dollar bill. The bill had been used to purchase merchandise at a local store. Officers inspected the bill and confirmed that it was counterfeit. Over the remainder of the week several more counterfeit one hundred dollars bills were reported. A local banking establishment had received several from another local business when they had made their deposit.

During the officers investigation a suspect was identified as the person responsible for the counterfeit money. She was identified as Brittany S. Slight age 30 of Ely. A search warrant was obtained for Slight’s residence that was located in Ely. During the execution of the search warrant officers located items connected to the counterfeit money along with drugs and drug paraphernalia. Slight who had concealed herself inside the attic of the home was located and arrested. She was arrested for burglary, possession or receiving forged instruments, obtaining money or property under false pretenses, possession of a controlled substance,(heroin) obstructing a police officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Another individual who was located inside the home during the search warrant was identified as Brandon C. Neibauer age 29 of Ely. Neibauer was also arrested. He was arrested for Possession of a controlled substance (Heroin), possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstructing a police officer.  Both individuals are being held at the White Pine County Jail. Slight’s bail has been set at $55,000 and Neibauer’s at $15,000. Investigation into this incident continues.
