SEPT. 30

Report of a parking problem — Officer located the vehicle that was illegally parked. The operator of the vehicle was contacted and advised to remove it from the area.

Report of a disturbance — Officer contacted the individuals involved who were arguing over a vehicle accident they had been involved in. They were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a missing juvenile — The juvenile was located and returned home.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a deer stuck in a fence — The area was patrolled, but the deer was not located.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted a father and daughter who had engaged in a verbal argument about rules in the home. The juvenile daughter was advised to follow the rules set by her parent.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Officer received a report of a suspicious person inside a vacant home. The individual was contacted who had permission to be there.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Brendon Draper age 21 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument over child care. The parties separated for a time and were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a found wallet — The owner was notified and will pick the wallet up.

Report of a bad check — Officer collected the check from a local business who had received it for payment. The checked was turned over to the City Attorney for collections.

Report of a fraud — Reporting party stated that she keeps receiving telephone calls from an individual who claims to be from the IRS. Officer checked the callers number and reported that it was a fraud and to discontinue any contact with the caller.

Report of a fraud — Reporting party stated that he was trying to rent a home and sent the owner of the home a security deposit. The owner will not return the reporting parties phone calls. Officer investigated the incident and reported that the security deposit is being returned due to the house had been sold.

Report of a dog bite — Reporting party stated that her granddaughter had been bitten by their dog while playing with it. The granddaughter received medical attention at E.R. and the dog was taken to the Ely Dog Pound.

Report of possible gun shots — The area was patrolled, but nothing was located.

Report of a missing juvenile — Reporting party stated that her brother whom she had custody of left their home without permission. Officers are attempting to locate the juvenile.

OCT. 1

Report of a theft — The reporting party claimed someone stole her child’s bike.  A report was completed.

Report of a hit and run — The reporting party claimed an unknown vehicle struck his truck while it was parked, unoccupied, in front of his house. A report was completed.

Report of an alarm — The alarm was found to be false.

Report of a truancy — A child was deemed a habitual truant and was issued a citation.  A report was completed and will be forwarded to Juvenile Probation.

Report of an accident — Leroy Suserud, of Arizona, reportedly struck a deer on the highway causing damage to his vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of a parking violation — The suspect was advised not to block the alley with his vehicle.

Report of vandalism — The reporting party found his window broken on his vehicle.  A report was completed.

Report of a disabled vehicle — Officers assisted a subject with a vehicle that had become stuck.

Report of suspicious circumstances — The reporting party believed he could see someone sitting in the shadows in a parked vehicle.  The vehicle was checked and found to be unoccupied.

Report of a theft — The reporting party believed someone took items from a shed.  The investigation continues.

Report of a suspicious subject — The reporting party believed a male was looking in parked vehicles.  The subject was located, but denied looking in any cars.

Report of child abuse — The report was unfounded.

Report of harassment — The reporting party claimed a family member took her photo without permission.  A report was completed.

Report of vandalism — The reporting party claimed someone slashed his tire.  A report was completed.

Report of a shoplifter — The reporting party claimed a male subject shoplifted an item from his store and then fled.  The investigation continues.

Report of a dog problem — The reporting party said a dog chased his grandchildren while they were at the park.  Contact was made with the owner of the dog, who was warned about letting their dog run at large.

Report of suspicious circumstances — The reporting party observed a vehicle parked in front of her house, which drove away when she approached it.  The area was checked, but the vehicle wasn’t located.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — The vehicle was located and checked ok.

Report of vandalism — The reporting party discovered a broken window on his vehicle.  A report was completed.

Report of suspicious circumstances — The reporting party claimed to be harassed by several males. When the officer arrived, the reporting party ignored the deputy.  The report was unfounded.

Report of a dog bite — The reporting party claimed her child was bitten by a dog when the child reached over the fence into the dog’s yard.

Report of a fight — Officers contacted the two subjects, both of which admitted to fighting over money owed.  One of the parties involved, identified as 57 year old Ely resident Michael Brown, gave false information to officers and was later arrested.

Report of an escape — 25 year old Courtland Kimble escaped from the Ely Conservation Camp.  The search continues.

Report of a problem with a subject — The subject went home prior to officers arriving.

Report of a domestic dispute — Contact was made with the subjects involved and it was found that they were only arguing.  Both parties separated for the night.

Report of an accident — 20 year old Ely resident Gunner Cardinal accelerated quickly while turning, causing him to lose control and roll the vehicle.  Cardinal was later arrested for due care, open container, minor in possession and minor in consumption.

Report of suspicious circumstances — The subject checked ok.

Report of vandalism — The reporting party discovered all of his tires had been slashed.  The investigation continues.

Report of suspicious circumstances — The subjects were checked and found to have permission to be at the residence in question.

Report of a welfare check — The subject was located and claimed to be fine.

Report of fraud — The reporting party claimed a local business was defrauding him.   Contact was made with the business, who corrected the problem.

Report of threats — The report was unfounded.

Report of suspicious circumstances — The reporting party claimed that her mail was being delivered to the wrong address.  A report was completed.

OCT. 5

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party, an agent at a local business, claimed a male was in the business and was creating a disturbance.  The male was later located and advised not to return to the business.

Report of a private property accident — Melissa Woodworth, of Ely, was backing from a parked position and struck a pole.  A report was completed.

Report of a reckless driver — The area was checked, but the offending vehicle could not be located.

Report of stolen property — A juvenile claimed another juvenile stole one of his toys. When the alleged suspect was confronted, he denied the theft, claiming this is an ongoing problem with the reporting party. Both subjects were advised to keep away from each other.

Report of stolen property — The reporting party claimed someone stole his mobile phone.  The investigation continues.

Report of a hit and run accident — The reporting party discovered an unknown vehicle struck his truck while it was parked and unoccupied.  The striking vehicle then fled the scene.  A report was completed.

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party, the owner of a local business, provided services to a subject, who was now refusing to pay the bill.  The reporting party was advised the matter was civil, and was able to settle the bill with the patron.

OCT. 6

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual throwing rocks at vehicles as they passed by. The report was given to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an employee at a local business that was causing a disturbance. Officer contacted the employee who denied the allegation. He was advised to keep the peace.

Report of a private property accident — Caron Ator of Ruth was operating a vehicle and was backing up. She failed to see a parked vehicle behind her belonging to Elizabeth Puckett of Ruth. Ator’s vehicle struck Puckett’s vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

Report of possible animal abuse — The report was given to Ely Animal Control.

Report of harassing phone calls — Reporting party stated that she is receiving unwanted telephone calls from an unknown caller. A report was completed so the reporting party could have the number blocked.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and advised to stay out of the roadway.

Report of a domestic disturbance — The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Report of a lost and found item — Reporting party located a boat seat in the roadway. The seat was placed into lost and found.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual was posting bad things about him on Facebook. The reporting party was advised to un-friend the person. A report was completed.

Report of a suspicious subject — The report was given to Ely Tribal Police.

Report of a dog at large — The dog was secured and the owner was notified who came and picked the dog up.

Report of a suspicious subject — The report was given to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Report of an injured animal — Reporting party stated that a cat had been injured. Officer located the cat, but was unable to catch it.
