Heaven has gained a new angel. Lorraine Janet Mason returned home to her Heavenly Father, October 9, 2015. Born in Wilkes-barre, PA on May 26, 1932 to William Misunas (Mason) and Veronica Zemaitis (Mason), She was the youngest of seven children. Besides Pennsylvania, she also lived in Michigan, Florida, Utah, and Nevada.
Lorraine loved to work around people and her favorite jobs were as a pharmacy clerk and airport gift shop clerk.
She never married, instead selflessly taking care of first her mother, and then her older sisters.
Lorraine loved going for walks or enjoying her favorite TV shows like “Dancing with the Stars”.
The love of her life was her great, great niece, Paige. There wasn’t a thing she wouldn’t do for her little “honey bunny”, and her apartment was decorated with Paige’s drawings, crafts, and photos.
She is survived by family across the country who love and miss her very much. A small memorial service will be held at 12 PM at Mountain Vista Chapel in Ely, Nevada on Friday, October 16, 2015. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the National MPS Society to help find a cure for Lorraine’s “little sweetheart” Paige and other children like her.
Our Aunt Lorraine was special ! She was such a pleasant and funny person ! I will always miss her, just as I missed her when she moved away from Michigan. I got to visit her in Florida but never got the chance to come to Nevada. She will now get to be with her other siblings ! I know my Dad would be glad to see her in heaven !
So sorry to hear of Aunt Lorraine’s passing. No one notified us and we hadn’t heard from her in awhile so we tried contacting everyone we knew but couldn’t get an answer. Then I tried here, hoping I wouldn’t find anything. She was a wonderful soul and yes, she loved and talked about Paige with great love in all her letters. She even sent us newspaper clippings. My husbands sister in Ohio would talk to her on the phone as well and that would be her number one topic. We will miss her. We send our love.
