OCT. 28

Report of an open door — Officer located an open door on a closed business. The business was checked and the door secured.

Report of dog at large — The dogs were placed back into their fenced area.

Report of an accident — Mark Thoman of Tuscon, AZ was operating a vehicle on 30 mile road. As he did so he struck a cow that had entered into the roadway. A report was completed.

Report of an abandoned vehicle — Reporting party stated that a motorcycle had been abandoned on his work place property. Officer attempted to contact the owner, but was unsuccessful.  The reporting party was advised he could have the vehicle towed from the property.

Report of a problem with a juvenile — Officer assisted with a juvenile who needed medical attention. The juvenile was taken to E.R. by ambulance.

Report of a person with a firearm — Officer contacted the individual and reported that he legally possessed the firearm and that no laws had been violated.

Report of a welfare check — The children were checked on and were fine.

Report of am alarm — False alarm.

Report of a custody problem — Reporting party stated that her ex-husband has told her he won’t be returning their child in common on the appropriate date. The incident was documented.

Report of a truancy — Officer reported that the juvenile will be issued a citation for truancy and a report will be sent to juvenile probation.

Report of a suspicious subject — The area was patrolled, but the person was not located,

Report of a bad check — Reporting party stated that her place of business received a check for payment for services, but the check was returned for insufficient funds. The check was collected and turned over the City Attorney for collections.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was not located.

Report of a missing person — Officer received a report of an individual who had not returned home after being out in the mountains scouting. Search and Rescue were notified and along with family members and friends of the person missing searched the area where his vehicle had been located. The individual was located who was deceased. He was identified as David Marques age 50 of Ely. Marques was sent to the Clark County Coroner’s Office to determine his cause of death.

Report of a private property accident — Harold Carpenter of Toston, MT was operating a vehicle towing a trailer. As he was backing up his trailer he struck a pole causing damage to the trailer. An accident report was completed.

Report of a private property accident — Carolyn Boyd of McGill was operating a vehicle and was backing up. She failed to see a parked vehicle behind her belonging to Bernadett Sena of Ely. Boyd’s vehicle struck Sena’s vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend keeps glaring at him and drives by him in a reckless manner. Officer patrolled the area and the individual accused of causing the problems was not located. The incident was documented.

Report of a welfare check — Officer received a report of an individual who claimed she was being held against her will. Officer contacted the individual who also claimed that she had been sexually assaulted. During the officers investigation the reporting party stated that she had made up the accusation and the relationship had been consensual. Officer reported that Samantha J. Pritchett age 20 of Bellevue NB was arrested for filling a false police report.

OCT. 30

Report of a barking dog — The area was patrolled, but no barking dog was located.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a violation of a protective order — Reporting party stated that she has received several phone calls from an individual who she has a protective order against. Officer contacted the individual and reported that he was identified as Harvie D. Tibbs age 55 of Ely. Tibbs was arrested for violation of a protective order.

Report of a possible drunk driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a welfare check — Officer reported that the child was checked on and was fine.

Report of a music disturbance — Officer contacted the occupant of the home and advised him to turn his music down.

OCT. 31

Report of a fight — Officer received a report of a fight that was taking place at a local bar. When officers arrived the individuals involved had left the area.

Report of a juvenile party — The area was patrolled, but no party was located.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual who had fallen asleep at a local café. The individual was contacted and advised to leave.

Report of an accident — Cecelia Notafraid of Ely was operating a vehicle and was exiting a private driveway. She failed to yield to a vehicle being operated by Tanner Bohrne, a juvenile of Ely. Notafraid’s vehicle struck Bohrne’s vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed and Notafraid was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way.

Report of an accidental shooting — Reporting party stated that while cleaning his firearm he accidentally shot himself in his hand. The individual received medical treatment at the E.R.

Report of dog at large — The dog was taken to the City Dog Pound.

Report of harassment — Reporting party stated that she is being sexually harassed at her place of employment. She was provided the necessary information to file a complaint with the State of Nevada.

Report of a custody problem — Officer contacted the parties involved who were arguing over child custody exchange. The situation was resolved.

Report of problem with a subject — Officer received a report of a convicted sex offender handing out candy to children. Officer contacted the individual and advised him to leave the area.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer received a report of a domestic battery that had taken place. During the officers investigation Rita M. Wooldridge age 36 of Ely was arrested. She was arrested for domestic battery, battery with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest.  She is accused of stabbing a family member with a knife and resisting arrest.

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the individual and reported that he was fine.

Report of a battery — Reporting party stated that an individual bumped into her and then began yelling at her. The parties involved were contacted and advised to stay away from each other.

Report of a welfare check — The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

Report of a fight — Officer received a report of a fight that had taken place at a local bar. Officer contacted the parties involved who advised they had both engaged in a physical altercation. Investigation continues.

Report of a noise disturbance — Officer contacted the business where the disturbance was coming from and advised them to keep the peace.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual who was causing a disturbance at a local bar. The individual was contacted and trespassed from the business.

Report of a fight — Officer received a report of a fight that had taken place at a local bar. One of the parties involved was contacted who stated that she had been battered. The other party involved was not located. Investigation continues.

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that some children were throwing toys into the alleyway. The parents of the children were contacted and advised of the problem.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that he allowed some friends to stay at his home and when the friends left a tablet was missing. Officer contacted the friends who denied taking the tablet. The incident was documented.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual digging through the trash at a local business. The employee of the business requested the person be trespassed. The individual was contacted and advised she was trespassed from the property.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of an individual who was laying in the roadway. Officer reported that the individual was intoxicated. He was taken home by a friend.

NOV. 2

Report of an unattended death: — Wilma Simer passed away at her residence due to natural causes.

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party claimed to be having issues with her grand daughter owing her money, but refusing to pay.  She was advised the issue was civil, and to handle it accordingly.

Report of fraud — The reporting party claimed someone made unauthorized charges to his bank account.  The investigation continues.

Report of an arrest — The deputy arrested 32 year old Joshua Daniel Watt, of Ely, for various traffic violations.

Report of an animal problem — Two dogs were seen running at large near a local motel.  The dogs were taken into custody by animal control.

Report of property damage — The reporting party claimed a former boyfriend damaged her personal property.  The ex-boyfriend denied damaging the property.  A report was completed and submitted for evaluation by the District Attorney’s Office.

Report of an arrest — The deputy conducted a traffic stop and spoke to 47 year old Richard Manning, of Oregon.  Manning was later arrested on various drug charges.

NOV. 3

Report of a welfare check — The subjects were located and appeared to be ok.

Report of suspicious circumstances — The reporting party claimed to have heard someone in his basement and then the power went out.  It was later discovered a breaker had been tripped and no one was in the basement.

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party claimed a male had been dumping refuse into his privately owned dumpster. A citation will be issued when the male is located.

Report of an arrest — 20 year old Ely resident Dangelo Hirales was arrested for an outstanding Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a welfare check — The subject was located and was fine.

Report of a problem with a subject — The reporting party claimed to be having problems with his adult sister, who left soon after law enforcement arrival.

Report of an arrest — A deputy conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the driver, identified as 65 year old Ruth resident, Terrance Davis.  Davis was later arrested for driving under the influence.
