William Miles Hampton passed away unexpectedly at age 16, on November 5, 2015. He spent an immeasurable amount of time fighting to live a happy, healthy life from the time he was conceived.
Will was born September 20, 1999, in South Jordan, Utah, to Charlotte E. Baldwin and Larry M. Hampton. From the time he was only a small child, he filled lives with laughter and happiness, always taking on different characters and solely answering to the character of his choice for the day. From the Grinch to Shrek and everywhere in between, he had so much talent. His infectious spirit helped fill our White Pine Players’ stage many-a-time, regardless of which character he was bringing to life. He felt a deep connection to music and science, seeing things most others missed. Will was a prominent member of our community, participating in high school choir, band and theater, as well as Community Choir and band in his off time. We will forever remember Will for his insatiable need for knowledge and music.
A memorial service in celebration of Will’s life was held Wednesday, November 11th, 2015 in Ely, NV. A GoFundMe page has been set up for those who wish to donate. William is survived by his parents: Charlotte Baldwin and Larry Hampton, siblings: Sorsha, Denver, Kaitlyn, Kenny, Daniel, Noah, and Elijah and grandparents: Ken & Carolyn Baldwin, and Larry & Susan Hampton, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
I did not personally know Will, but I have watched his YouTube videos, and I can say without a doubt that he was an extremely talented young man. My condolences to his friends and family, who are suffering from the pain that suicide leaves behind. I hope Will has found the peace he sought.
I am so very sorry for Will’s passing. He was an amazingly talented young man with an innate ability to make people happy whether it be through his impersonations, his music, or just his presence. May you find comfort in this sad time.
I didn’t ever get the chance to meet Will, but he seemed like such a sweet kid with a heart full of kindness. Will was in my college English class and he was one of the first of my classmates to comment on my introduction. He seemed so interested in everything and he was so kind. He had said he wanted to hang out and I had told him yes but I never got the chance to. All of my prayers go to his family.
I am so sad to learn of Will’s passing. I attended a few years of elementary school with him and he was always fun to be around. We would always joke around and he could always make me smile. Although we haven’t talked since I do know what a wonderful friend he was. Rest in peace, Will.
Dear Carolyn & Ken: So sorry you lost your grandson. I didn’t realize who he was until I saw your names as his grandparents. He and our granddaughters, Xianna and Lenora, were good friends. I recall seeing him at different functions and as an infant at a party of the infirmary personnel at ESP way back when. There are no words that could comfort you. Just know that you have our love, prayers, and thoughts as you grieve. So sad that he thought he could not bear this life.
