Learning Bridge’s focus teacher for October is Ms. Rachel Molsee, 7th grade.
Ms Molsee has spent the past four years teaching Biology, Environmental Science and Physical Science at Coeur d’Alene High School. Previously, she taught at an alternative high school, and completed her student teaching at Moscow Jr. High. She has worked with youth of all ages for the past 15 years, in various locations and mediums. She has written grants that encouraged children and families to enjoy the outdoors, through camping, hiking and biking. She wanted to relocate to Nevada and return to teaching junior high. She has a B.S in Biology and a B.S in Education.
She brings a mature yet energetic method of teaching into her classroom. She works hard to create a lesson plan that encompasses various learning styles. She uses labs, raps and songs, skits, notes and journaling etc. She emphasizes hands-on and inquiry learning. Ms. Molsee expects her students to problem solve and seek creative, effective and practical solutions. This builds self-confidence. She and her students work as a team to establish boundaries that maintain this culture. These strategies foster ownership and confidence within the classroom. Learning Bridge is extremely pleased to have Ms. Molsee as part of its exceptional educational team.
