Cole Thomas Burdick and Debra Lelani Kingston have been named Students of the Month for November, according to Ely Elks Lodge #1469.

Burdick, age 17, is the son of Martin Burdick and Wendy Lopez of Ely.  Kingston, age 17, is the daughter of William and Mele Kingston of Ely.  Both are Seniors at White Pine High School and will graduate with the Class of 2016.

The Student of the Month program is sponsored by the Elks Lodge in an effort to bring recognition to outstanding students in the area.

Multiple achievement, citizenship, scholarship and leadership are the basis for selection of Students of the Month.

Burdick has played four years of varsity football and has been honored as 2nd team running back and 2nd team linebacker.  He played one year of baseball and is the state runner-up for the pole vault competition.  He is a member of the Coyote Motorcycle Club and the Bristlecone Bowmen club.  His hobbies are hunting, shooting, riding motorcycles and mountain bike riding.

Kingston has been active in varsity volleyball (as captain), varsity basketball (as captain) and varsity softball.  She is the WPHS Student Body President and a member of the National Honor Society and WPHS Choir and Honor Choir.  Her hobbies are reading and doodling whenever she gets a break from her hectic schedule, writing and jogging, being with good friends and family, and listening to music almost religiously every day.
