The Nevada Department of Public Safety / Office of Traffic Safety held its annual training and award banquet in Sparks Nevada in August 2015. Several of White Pine County Sheriff’s Deputies were honored at the event for outstanding performances during the conference. Those honored were Captain Scott Henriod who was recognized as the Coordinator of the year for the Northern part of the State of Nevada. Sergeant Todd Fincher and Deputy Sean Wilkin were honored for their outstanding excellence during the event. Pictured with the recipients is Rebecca Barnett Office of Traffic Safety Coordinator. The Office of Traffic Safety provides grant monies to law enforcement agencies throughout the State of Nevada. The grant money is used by law enforcement to provide extra man power to work special enforcement events. These events include impaired driving, seatbelt use, distracted driving, and pedestrian safety enforcement. For this budget year the Sheriff’s Office received a grant award of $28,500 to be used to conduct these special enforcement events.
