DEC. 29

Report of a trespasser—Officer received a report of a person who had been trespassed from a local casino had returned. When officers arrived the individual had left the area.

Report of a problem with a subject—Officer received a report of an individual who was sleeping on the floor of a local casino. Officer contacted the person and advised him he needed to leave the establishment.

Report of a dog problem—Officer received a report of several dogs inside a vehicle. Officer reported that the dogs had been placed inside the car to keep warm.

Report of a reckless driver—The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a juvenile problem—Officer received a report of a juvenile who was acting out causing problems at his grandparents’ home. The juvenile was contacted and counciled about his actions.

Report of a citizen assist—Reporting party requested that the door on her home be checked to make sure it was secure. Officer reported that the back door was open. The residence was checked and the door was secured.

Report of a welfare check on several dogs—The dogs were checked on and found to have food and shelter.

Report of a possible drunk drive—The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that an individual had pictures of her on his phone and she doesn’t want him to have them. The individual was contacted who stated that he didn’t take the pictures they were sent to him. The incident was documented.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that her husband who was intoxicated had left their home and had taken their television. The area was patrolled, but the husband was not located,

Report of a welfare check—The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Dustin L. Homan age 22 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a theft—Reporting party stated that she had accidently left her purse at a local business establishment. When she returned to get it, it was gone. The incident was documented.

Report of a burglary—Reporting party stated that someone had broken into their home and removed several items. Investigation continues.

Report of a suspicious phone call—Reporting party stated that he received a phone call from an individual claiming he had been involved in a vehicle accident. The caller stated that the reporting party’s phone number had been left at the scene. The incident was documented.

Report of a domestic disturbance—Officer contacted the parties involved who claimed they had been involved in a verbal argument. They were both advised to keep the peace.

Report of a welfare check on rabbits—Officer reported that the rabbits had food and shelter.

Report of a vehicle accident—Reporting party stated that a vehicle had backed into his vehicle causing damage. The striking vehicle then fled the scene. The reporting party was able to get the license plate of the striking vehicle. Investigation continues.

Report of an accident—The area was patrolled, but no accident was located.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Brittany J. Best age 24 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of an open door—Officer received a report of an open door on a vehicle. The owner of the vehicle was contacted who accidently had left it open.

Report of a missing juvenile—Officer reported that the juvenile was located, she had been at a neighbor’s home visiting.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Tristian A. Perez age 19 of Nampa, ID was arrested on a Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a juvenile problem—Reporting party stated that his juvenile daughter had cut herself and then had left the residence. Officer located the juvenile at a friend’s home. The juvenile’s welfare was checked and a report was completed.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that a local business had received a package belonging to her and had opened it. Officer contacted the manager of the business and he stated that an employee had accidently opened the package.

Report of an accident—Lee Crumley of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on Mill Street. He allowed his vehicle to leave its lane of travel striking a parked car belonging to Gregory Rivero of Ely. His vehicle then struck a fence. An accident report was completed and Crumley was issued a citation for failure to maintain lane of travel.

Report of a cow on the roadway—The owner of the cow was notified.

Report of a domestic disturbance—Officer contacted the parties involved who were arguing over property. The parties involved separated for the night.

Report of a shoplifter—Reporting party stated that an individual had stolen several items from his place of business. The individual had fled the store. Officers have identified the individual and she will be issued a citation for petit larceny when located.

Report of a possible child abuse—Reporting party stated that when her children returned from their father’s home after a visit they disclosed to her that one of the children had been abused. Investigation continues

Report of a problem with a subject—Officer received a report of an individual causing a disturbance at the local hospital. The individual was contacted and advised to keep the peace. .

Report of a suicidal subject—Officer contacted the individual and reported that a friend arrived to help her in her troubled time.

Report of a 911 hangup—Officer reported that the building where the call came from was checked and found to be secured.

Report of a theft—Officer received a report of an employee at a local business stealing money out of the tip jar. Officer identified the individual as Donna M. Maestas age 46 of Ely. When officers confronted Maestas about the theft she provided false information pertaining to her identification. Maestas was then arrested. During her arrest she was also found to be in possession of a dangerous drug and possession of stolen property.

Report of a domestic disburbance—Officer contacted two individuals who were involved in a verbal argument. The parties involved separated for the night.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that she was closing down the bar, but people were refusing to leave. Officer contacted the party goers and advised them to leave.

Report of an accident—Officer assisted with the accident until the Nevada Highway Patrol arrived.

Report of a suspicious vehicle—Officer located the vehicle parked in an alleyway. The owner was contacted and advised to remove it from the alleyway.

Report of an agency assist—Officer assisted D.C.F.S. on a home visit. No problems were reported.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that she passed a vehicle on US 6 East and the vehicle tailgated her all the way to Ely. Officer contacted the operator of the other vehicle who stated that when the vehicle passed him a rock flew up chipping his windshield. He was advised that no laws had been violated and his action to tailgate someone was against the law. He was advised to report incidents to the local law enforcement agency when problems occur.

Report of a reckless driver—Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle who stated that she had swerved into an oncoming lane when she had been distracted when smoking a cigarette. She apologized for her actions.

Report of an accident—Officer received a report of a vehicle that had struck a fence. During the officers investigation George L. Martinez age 34 of McGill was arrested for hit and run property damage, failure to report an accident, and D.U.I.

Report of suspicious subjects—Officer received a report of several individuals walking near a roadway. The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Report of a trespasser—Reporting party stated that an individual who had been trespassed from a local store had returned. Officer located the individual and advised her she was not to return to the store.

Report of a citizens assist—Officer assisted an elderly female who was having problems with her oxygen machine.

Report of a suicidal subject—Officer contacted the individual and reported that he was taken to the E.R. by ambulance.

Report of a theft—Reporting party stated that an employee at her place of business had stolen money from the cash register. During the officers investigation Dangelo Hirales of Ely was found to be the employee that had stolen the money. He was issued a citation for embezzlement. The reporting party also terminated Hirales employment.

Report of a domestic disturbance— Officer contacted the parties involved who stated that they had a verbal argument. The parties separated for the day.

Report of a found debit card—The item was returned to the owner.

Report of a welfare check on a dog—Officer spoke to the owner of the dogs and reported that they were in good health.

Report of an alarm—False alarm.

Report of a custody battle—Reporting party stated that the father of her child had their child for visitations and was now refusing to return the child. The reporting party wanted the incident documented. A report was completed.

Report of found items—Reporting party stated that she had found a wallet and cell phone. The items were placed into lost and found.

Report of property damage—Reporting party stated that she had an argument with her boyfriend and during the argument he damaged her cell phone. During the officers investigation it was unclear who owned the phone, the reporting party or the boyfriend. The incident was documented.

Report of a theft—Reporting party stated that an individual came into her apartment and stole money out of her purse. Investigation continues.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Jesse T. Griffin age 21 of Ely was arrested for driving the wrong way on a one way street and driving suspended.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE

Officer contacted the parties involved who gave conflicting statements on what had occurred during their argument. The parties agreed to separate for the night.

REPORT OF AN ARREST

City — officer reported that Dennis M. Smith age 60 of Caldwell, ID was arrested for failure to drive within marked lanes, nonresident driving suspended, and license plate expired.

Report of harrassment—Reporting party stated that an individual was following him around the McGill area taking pictures of him. Officer is attempting to locate the individual who was taking the pictures.

Report of a stranded citizen—Reporting party stated that he had gotten stuck on Cave Mountain while checking satellite dishes. Search and Rescue was notified to assist the individual.

Report of a motor vehicle theft—Officer received a report of an individual who had stolen a vehicle. Officer located the individual and identified him as Anthony Apodaca-Buckner age 29 of Ely. Apodaca-Buckner was arrested for unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, obstructing a police officer, resisting arrest, and under the influence of a controlled substance.

Report of a domestic disturbance—Officer contacted the parties involved who denied and argument had taken place.

Report of an unlicensed vehicle—Officer located the vehicle which was parked and unoccupied.

Report of stolen property—Reporting party stated that she had bought an Apple I Pad for Christmas from a third party. The reporting party stated that she was having problems activating it so she contact Apple who advised her that the items had been stolen. Investigation continues.

Reports of shots fired—Officer contacted the individuals who were hunting in the area.

Report of an alarm— False alarm.

Report of a possible fraud—Reporting party stated that they received a phone call from an individual asking for money / donation for the local fire department. The incident was documented.

Report of a shoplifter—Reporting party stated that an individual had removed an item from a local store without paying for it. Officer reported that the individual was identified as Morris L. Falder of Ely. Falder was issued a citation for petit larceny.
