After almost three weeks off, the White Pine High boys basketball team travels to Laughlin Friday, Jan. 8. Depending on the route taken, it’s a roughly 350 mile trip, the furthest the boys will travel this season.
“We beat Laughlin last year,” Coach Charlie Hall said. “We haven’t scored a lot of points and we need to up our shooting percentage.”
They travel to Needles (Calif.) the next day, Jan. 9.
“Needles is always tough in their gym,” Hall said.
The Bobcats currently hold a 2-7 overall record, and are 1-3 in Division III Southern play.
“We need to pick up a couple wins and get back into the standings,” Hall added. “We need to capitalize on the progress we’ve made instead of looking back.”
Senior Jonathan Gust is averaging 10 points per game.
Following the road trip, the Bobcats return to Ely to host Agassi Prep Saturday, Jan. 16 at 4:30 p.m.
