JAN. 12

Report of a welfare check—Officer checked on the children and reported that they were fine.

Report of a stolen vehicle—Reporting party stated that his girlfriend had taken his car without permission. During the officers investigation it was determined that no crime had occurred.

Report of a domestic disturbance—Officer received a report of a domestic battery that had taken place. During the officers investigation it was determined that a juvenile had battered a family member. The juvenile was detained and taken to the Elko Detention Center.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that he was surrendering his vehicle for a repossession, but the vehicle was blocked in by two camper trailers. Officer contacted the owner of the trailers and advised they need to be moved.

Report of a stuck semi truck—Officer patrolled the area, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of an unattended child—Reporting party located a small child walking down the roadway. Officer located a family member of the child who stated that a babysitter was supposed to be watching the child. D.C.F.S. was also notified.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Juan D. Carrillo age 38 of Hesperia, CA was arrested for basic speed and driving revoked.

Report of a welfare check—Officer reported that the child was checked on and was fine. An occupant of the home was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. She was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia. D.C.F.S. was also notified.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Arden G. Garlick age 65 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Justice Court warrant.

Report of a theft—Reporting party stated that someone had stolen an X Box 360 from her residence. Investigation continues.

Report of a possible drunk driver—Officer located the vehicle and spoke to the operator, He was having electrical problems with the vehicle and was not intoxicated.

Report of a lost and found wallet—Reporting party located a wallet near a local park. The owner of the wallet was contacted and it will be returned to him.

Report of a theft—Reporting party stated that she had ordered several items, but never received them. The tracking of the items indicated they were delivered to her residence.  A report was completed for the theft of the items.

Report of a welfare—The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that an individual had caused a disturbance at a local apartment building and she wanted him trespassed. The individual was contacted and advised he was trespassed from the property.

Report of a welfare check—Officer reported that the individual was not located.

Report of a domestic disturbance—Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. The parties involved agreed to separate for the night.

Report of a juvenile problem—Officer received a report of a student on a school bus who had been spit on by another student. Officer reported that school officials had already addressed the issue. A report was completed and sent to Juvenile Probation.

Report of a domestic disturbance—Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. The parties involved had already separated for the day.

Report of a fight—The report was given to the Ely Tribal Police.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Brady G. Jackson age 28 of Ely was arrested for failure to maintain lane of travel and D.U.I.

Report of an alarm—False alarm.

Report of a prowler—The area was patrolled, but nothing was located.

Report of an alarm—False alarm.

Report of vandalism—Reporting party stated that someone had broken several windows on a vacant building. A report was completed.

Report of an alarm—False alarm.

Report of a battery on a person—Reporting party stated that he was confronted by an individual who struck him several times in the head. Officer reported that when the person who committed the battery is located he will be issued a citation for battery.

Report of a shoplifter—Reporting party stated that several juveniles had entered into a store and had attempted to steal several items. The juveniles were detained and later released to their parents. A report will be sent to Juvenile Probation.

Report of a barking dog—Officer reported that the owner of the dog was not at home and he will be contacted at a later date.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that an individual was causing a disturbance and a local casino. The individual was trespassed from the property.

Report of a fight—Reporting party stated that several juveniles at a local school and gotten into a fight. The juveniles along with their parents were contacted. A repot was sent to Juvenile Probation.

Report of an intoxicated pedistrian—Officer observed an intoxicated person walking into traffic. The individual was contacted and identified as Robert J. Garcia age 38 of Ely. Garcia was arrested for intoxicated person in a roadway.

Report of a suspicious subject—Officer located the individual who stated that he was walking around town looking for his girlfriend.

Report of harrassment—Reporting party stated that an individual was posting rude comments and threats towards her on Face Book, Officer looked at the posts and reported that no crime had occurred. The reporting party was advised to un-friend the person who was posting the comments.

Report of a barking dog—Officer contacted the owner of the dog and advised her of the complaint.

Report of a welfare check—The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a suspicious vehicle—Officer located the vehicle which was parked in the roadway. Officer was unable to locate the owner so the vehicle was towed by a local tow company.

Report of an agency assist—Officer assisted with an elderly unresponsive female who was transported to E.R. by ambulance.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party wanted an incident documented where her family had locked her out of the home. A report was completed and arraignments were made for the reporting party to stay elsewhere.

Report of an injured subject—Officer received a report of an individual who had inured himself. Officer reported that the person had attempted to take his own life. The individual was taken to E.R. for medical treatment.

Report of property damage—Reporting party stated that someone had spray painted inside his place of business. A report was completed and the investigation continues.

Report of an accident—Robert Martinez of Ely was operating a city snow plow when the vehicle slid on some ice striking a parked car belonging to Jimmy Hicks of Ely. An accident report was completed.

Report of a problem with a subject—Officer received a report of a person causing a disturbance at a local casino. The individual was contacted and a friend took him home.

Report of a problem with a subject—Officer received a report of an individual causing a disturbance at the clinic. Officer contacted the person and advised him to leave the facility.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Mara L. Vasquez age 33 of Ely was arrested for driving suspended, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance as a prisoner.

Report of property damage—Reporting party located a scratch on her vehicle. The incident was documented.

Report of a domestic disburbance—Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. They were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a problem with a subject—Officer received a report of an individual causing a disturbance. When officers arrived the individual had left the area.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that a stolen vehicle was located in the Ely area. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Miranda. Blake age 39 of Grand Junction, CO. Blake was arrested for  possession of stolen property, possession of methamphetamine, under the influence of a controlled substance, D.U.I., possession of marijuana , obstructing a police officer and two warrants out of Mesa County Justice Center for contempt of court.

Report of a domestic disturbanc—Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. They were advised to keep the peace.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Kyle P. Hannig age 29 of Ely was arrested on a Meadow Valley Justice Court warrant.

Report of a hit and run accident—Reporting party stated that her vehicle had been struck by another vehicle. The striking vehicle fled the area. A report was completed.

Report of a suspicious vehicle—Officer located the vehicle and reported that the owner left a note on it indicating it was broken down and that he would be returning later to retrieve it.

Report of dogs at large—Officer located the dogs and they were taken to the Ely Dog Pound.

Report of an ATV problem—Officer received a report of an operator of an ATV that was dragging an individual behind the ATV. Officer patrolled the area and no problems were located.

Repott of an arrest—Officer reported that Tawna R. Mortensen age 52 of Ely was arrested for driving suspended.

Report of a suspicious subject—Officer received a report of an individual going door to door selling items. The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that an individual had thrown some Ranch Dressing at his vehicle. Officer contacted the individual who stated that he did throw the item at the car, due to the reporting party driving reckless. The parties involved were advised to stay away from each other.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Michael Reynolds age 32 of Ely was arrested for obstructing a police officer. Officer reported that Reynolds had interfered with the Officer during a traffic stop on a vehicle.

Officer located the individual who was intoxicated and walking in the roadway. He was identified as Brian N. Haynes age 49 of Ruth. Haynes was arrested for intoxicated person in a roadway.

Report of a missing person—The individual was located and was fine.

Report of a bad check—Reporting party stated that they had received a check for payment, but the check was returned for insufficient funds. Officer contacted the issuer of the check and identified him as Luis C. Moran age 40 of Lund. Moran was arrested for issuing an insufficient funds check.

Report of a dog problem—Officer received a report of a dog running at large. The area was patrolled, but the dog was not located.

Report of property damage—Reporting party stated that while he visiting another town someone had damaged his truck. A courtesy report was completed.

Report of a possible fire—Officer reported that a wall heater had burned damaging the wiring and motor. The heater was turned off.

Report of an accident—Trace Cooley a juvenile of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on Clark Street. Due to icy road conditions his vehicle slid on some ice striking a retaining wall. An accident report was completed.
