JAN. 26

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Christina Coombes age 40 of McGill was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of property damage—Reporting party stated that someone had broken a bathroom mirror at his place of employment. The incident was documented.

Report of an alarm—False alarm.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that a vehicle did not stop for several children in a crosswalk. Officer located the vehicle and contacted the operator. She was advised of the complaint and warned about her driving behavior.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Kenneth A. Steiner age 35 of Spring Creek, NV was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant. During the arrest Steiner was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance and carrying a firearm. He was arrested for trafficking a controlled substance, transporting a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, ex-felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and use of a controlled substance.  Officer reported that Marissa McCracken age 19 of Lake Havasu City, AZ was arrested for transporting a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine for sell, and use of a controlled substance.

Report of possible drug use—Reporting party stated that several juveniles were smoking marijuana in a bathroom at a local business. When officers arrived the juveniles had left the area. Investigation continues.

Report of a problem with a subject—Officer received a report of an individual living in a condemned building. The individual was contacted and advised to leave the home.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Daniel A. Pettinger age 49 of Montrose, CO was arrested on a Hawthorn Justice Court warrant.

Report of a theft—Reporting party stated that an individual had taken a debit card from a family member and had used it to obtain funds without their permission. Investigation continues.

Report of a barking dog—Officer patrolled the area, but no barking dog was located.

Report of property damage—Reporting party stated that someone had damaged a door at a local motel. Officer is investigating the incident to verify if a theft had also occurred.

Report of a possible scam—Reporting party stated that she is receiving telephone calls from an individual who claims he is trying to collect on a loan that the reporting party is delinquent on. The reporting party advised that she asked the caller for documentation on the loan which he will not provide. The reporting party was advised to stop her contact with the caller.

Report of an abandoned vehicle—The owner was contacted who stated that he will remove the vehicle.

Report of an abandoned vehicle—Officer reported that the vehicle was tagged for removal.

Report of possible child abuse—Officer received a report of a child that had been abused. Officer contacted the reporting party and child and reported that no abuse had occurred.

Report of a death—Officer reported that Sandra A. Killion age 95 of Ely died at her residence of natural causes.

Report of a welfare check—Officer contacted the father and teenager and reported that they were fine.

Report of a welfare check—The individual was located and was fine.

Report of a battery— Officer received a report of an individual who had been struck with a board. Officer contacted the individual who refused to provide information on what had taken place.

Report of a welfare check—It was discovered the subject had left with his son, but was okay.

Report of a violation of a protective order—The reporting party had received a protective order against another person.  The other person, identified as 44 year old Rebecca Ann Klippert, violated the order by attempting to contact the reporting  party.  Klippert was booked for the violation without incident.

Report of a problem with a subject—The reporting party claimed her ex-husband piled all of her belongings on the sidewalk outside her house.  A report was completed.

Report of a domestic dispute—The reporting party claimed her father-in-law struck her.  The father-in-law denied the claim.  A report will be submitted to the City Attorney for prosecutorial consideration.

Report of a hit and run—The reporting party claimed an unknown vehicle struck his unoccupied vehicle at an unknown time and the suspect vehicle fled the area.  A report was completed.

Report of a suspicious subject—Reporting party stated that someone was banging on her door. Officer located the subject who was a family member of the reporting party. He was attempting to contact the reporting party to inquire if he could stay at her residence.

Report of threats—Reporting party stated that several individuals came to his home and threatened him over money that was owed for a job that had been completed. Officer contacted the parties involved who gave conflicting statement. Investigation continues.

Report of a trespasser—Reporting party stated that several individuals were staying at his motel who were not paying guests. The individuals were contacted and advised to leave.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that her husband is always drunk. He is causing damage to their apartment and threatening her. She was advised to obtain a protective order.

Report of an accident—Kata Baker of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on Aultman Street. Maurice Bachand of British Columbia was operating a vehicle traveling on Aultman Street. Bachand changed his lane of travel and struck Bakers vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed and Bachand was issued a citation for unsafe lane change.

Report of an ATV disturbance— The area was patrolled, but the ATV had left the area.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that they had provided a loaner vehicle to an individual. The loaner vehicle was due back, but the individual did not return it. The individual was contacted and the vehicle was returned.

Report of an injured dog—The owner arrived and took care of the dog.

Report of a dog at large—The area was patrolled, but the dog was not located.

Report of a reckless driver—The area was patrolled, but the vehicles involved had left the area.

Report of fraud—Reporting party stated that he received several phone calls and the caller claims he owes money on a fine. The caller states he needs to pay the fine over the phone or there will be a warrant issued for his arrest. The reporting party was advised it was a scam and to discontinue his contact with the caller.

Report of a vehicle fire—Officer received a report of a vehicle that had gotten stuck and then caught on fire. A report was completed.

Report of a disturbance—Officer received a report of several subjects causing a disturbance at a local bar. The individuals were contacted and advised to leave the establishment.

Report of a death—Officer reported that Aubrey D. Green age 86 of McGill died at his residence of natural causes.

Report of a problem with a subject—Officer received a report of an individual causing a disturbance at a local casino. The individual was contacted and advised to leave the establishment

Report of an intoxicated pedistrian—Officer contacted the individual and made arrangements for a friend to give him a ride home.

Report of a lost and found item— Reporting party stated that an individual had left her purse at a local motel. The purse was placed into lost and found and the owner will be notified.

Report of an accident—The accident was investigated by the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Report of an accident—Jennifer Trice of Ely was operating a vehicle near the intersection of Great Basin Blvd and Aultman Street. Due to icy road conditions her vehicle slid into a light pole. An accident report was completed.

Report of a civil problem—Reporting party stated that her grandchildren were staying with her and she was concerned about the medication they were taken. The incident was documented.

Report of a welfare check—Officer checked on the children and their mother and reported that they were fine.

Report of an accident — Tasheena Sandoval of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on Elysium Drive. As she entered the intersection at Campton Street she was unable to stop her vehicle due to icy road conditions. Her vehicle slid through the intersection striking a vehicle being operated by Lorie Lesher of McGill. An accident report was completed.

Report of a possible drunk driver— Officer located the vehicle which was parked and unoccupied.

Report of an accident — Britney Lewis of Ely was operating a vehicle near the intersection of Great Basin and Ave M. Due to icy road conditions she was unable to stop her vehicle and struck a vehicle being operated by Ayub Bombolo of Las Vegas. An accident report was completed.

Report of a traffic hazard — Officer reported that a trailer on a semi-truck had come unhooked and was blocking traffic. Traffic control was performed while the trailer was hooked back up.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that during a traffic stop several juveniles were detained for minor in consumption of alcohol. One adult was identified as Jacob Fishel age 20 of Ely. He was arrested for minor in consumption of alcohol.

Report of a welfare check—Officer patrolled the area, but was unable to locate the individuals.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that an individual was plowing snow in front of her property. The individual was contacted and advised to push the snow elsewhere.

Report of stuck vehicles—Officers reported that during the course of the day they responded and assisted 12 stuck vehicles in the roadway. Officers assisted these individuals.

Report of a domestic disturbance—Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that one of the parties was intoxicated and throwing a fit. He had banged his head through a window and was hitting himself with a hammer. The individual advised he was fine and requested no assistance.

Report of overdue fishermen—Officer received a report of several individuals who had gone fishing at Illapah Reservoir, but hadn’t returned. Search and Rescue was contacted and located the men stuck in their vehicle. Search and Rescue was able to tow them out.

Report of an accident—Ashley Herrera of Las Vegas was operating a vehicle traveling on SR 490 when her vehicle slid off the roadway striking a road sign. A report was completed.

Report of a fire—Officer assisted an individual who could smell something electrical burning in her home.

Report of an arrest— Officer reported that Raelynn N. Mitchell age 19 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant. During her arrest she was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance.

Report of a power outage—The incident was referred to Mt. Wheeler Power.

Report of a motorist assist—Through the course of the day officers helped twelve motorist who’s vehicle had become stuck in the snow.

Report of a citizen assist—Officer assisted an elderly person who had fallen in their home and was unable to get up.

Report of an abandoned vehicle—Officer reported that a vehicle had gotten stuck in the roadway and the operator had left it. The owner was contacted and a friend was able to assist her in getting the vehicle removed.

Report of a welfare check—The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that his neighbor was threatening him over a previous incident. All the parties involved were contacted and advised to stay away from each other.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that they are having problems with their landlord over a bill to fix a heater. The incident was documented.

Report of a vehicle driving on the sidewalk—Officer located the vehicle which was plowing snow.  No violations were observed.

Report of a welfare check—The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of possible stalking—Reporting party stated that an individual comes to her place of work and asked her questions that make her feel uncomfortable. The reporting party stated that she now notices the person driving by her home. Officer contacted the individual and advised him to stay away from the reporting party.

Report of an accident—Michael Sturgeon of Ely was operating a vehicle and was backing up. He failed to see a parked vehicle behind him belonging to Vicki Willis of Ely. Sturgeon’s vehicle struck Willis vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed and Willis was issued a citation for unsafe backing.

Report of an alarm—False alarm.

Report of an accident—Reporting party stated that an individual who was removing snow from the apartment complex where she lives struck her vehicle with the snow plow. Investigation continues.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that his father passed away last month and he was supposed to receive several items that had been left to him in the will. The reporting party stated that another individual had taken the items. The return of the items are being handled through an attorney. The incident was documented.
