Report of a broken water line— The report was given to the City of Ely.

Report of an alarm—False alarm

Report of a motorist assist—Officers reported that a semi-truck had become stuck in the snow. A tow truck assisted the semi while deputies performed traffic control.

Report of a welfare check—The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a theft—Reporting party stated that an employee at her place of business had been stealing money. During the officers investigation Russell Lucas age 26 of Ely was arrested for embezzlement. During his arrest he was found to be in possession of a controlled substance, use of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Report of property damage—Reporting party stated that he had the water turned off on his home several years ago, due to it being vacant. He reported that he checked on the home today and found the water on. He stated that the water was on and had caused some damage to the home. The incident was documented.

Report of a welfare check—Officer reported that the individual was not at home.

Report of a dead dog—Officer received a report of a dog that had been hit by a vehicle and was deceased in the roadway. Nevada Highway Patrol was notified.

Report of shots fired— The area was patrolled, but no problems were located.

Report of an ATL—Officer patrolled the Ely area, but the individual was not located.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Brittany S. Slight age 31 of Ely was arrested on an Ely District Court warrant for failure to appear.

Report of a welfare check—Officer contacted the individual who stated that he was fine and requested no assistance.

Report of truancy—Officer received a report of a student at a local school who was deemed to be a truant. The student was issued a citation for truancy and a report was sent to Juvenile Probation.

Report of a problem with a subjec—Reporting party stated that she received a report from an individual who had gotten his vehicle stuck near McGill. The caller was very rude on the phone. Officer contacted the individual who was in the process of getting his vehicle unstuck. He was advised of the complaint at which time he apologized.

Report of an agency assist—Officer attempted to locate an individual so a home visit could be accomplished. The individual was not located.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that he received a letter from an individual that brought concern to him. The reporting party wanted the incident documented. A report was completed.

Report of a trespasser—Reporting party stated that an individual had entered onto the property of another after she had previously been trespassed off the property. When officers arrived the individual had left the area.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that an individual was purchasing alcohol for a minor. Officer contacted the individual who denied that accusation. The incident was documented.

Report of a juvenile problem—Reporting party stated that his juvenile son was acting out and not controlling his temper. Officer spoke to the juvenile and advised him of the consequences of his actions.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Xavier V. Anderson age 30 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Justice Court warrant for child endangerment.

Report of a domestic disturbance—The parties were contacted and claimed it was verbal only.  The parties separated for the night.

Report of a problem with a subject—The agent of a local tavern claimed a patron was refusing to leave.  He was contacted and left without incident.

Report of a protective order violation—The reporting party, who has a valid protective order in effect, claimed the order was violated.  The suspect, 47 year old Ely resident Patricia Colville, was charged with violating a protective order.

Report of a problem with a subject—The reporting party claimed to have received a harassing letter.  A report was completed.

Report of a problem with a subject—The reporting party claimed the suspect provided false information to try to get personal records about the victim’s child.  The investigation continues.

Report of a welfare check—The subject was located and checked okay.

Report of a reckless driver—The area was checked, but no one was seen driving with willful and wonton disregard for persons and property.

Report of a welfare check—The subject was located deceased, with no signs of foul play.  Notification of next of kin is still pending.

Report of an alarm—The alarm was activated accidentally by an employee.

Report of an intoxicated driver—The vehicle was located, but did not show signs of impairment.

Report of a gas skip—Reporting party stated that an individual had obtained gas at his place of business and left without paying for it. The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a subject with a gun—Officer located the individual who was playing with an air soft gun. He was advised to play elsewhere.

Report of child abuse—Officer reported that a child had been abused and that the investigation continues.

Report of a motorist assist—The report was given to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Report of a theft—Reporting party stated that someone had gained access to her banking account and stole a large amount of money. Investigation continues.

Report of threats—Reporting party stated that she is being threatened by a group of people over Face Book. The individuals making the threats to the reporting party live out of state. The incident was documented.

Report of a motorist assist—Officer provided traffic control while a semi-truck was pulled out of the snow.

Report of vandalism—Reporting party stated that she caught an individual using a marker to deface some property. The individual fled the area. Officers are attempting to locate the individual.

Report of property damage—Reporting party stated that he was pulling an item with his truck when the tow strap broke causing it to fling forward breaking his rear window and front windshield on his vehicle. The incident was documented.

Report of an open door—Officer located an open door on a vacant home. The home was checked and the door secured.

Report of a suspicious vehicle—Officer located the vehicle and reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of a reckless driver—The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of lost keys—Reporting party stated that she left her keys in a friend’s vehicle and now her keys are missing. The incident was documented.

Report of a domestic disturbance—Officer contacted the person involved who was having an argument with another person over the phone. She was advised to keep the peace.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Michael J. Vodopich age 46 of Ely was arrested for failure to stop at stop a sign, obstructing a police officer, and D.U.I.

Report of a intoxicated pedistrian—Officer contacted the individual who was intoxicated and had also injured his leg. He was assisted with a ride to his residence.

Report of a barking dog—Officer reported that the owner of the dog was issued a citation for barking dog.

Report of a theft—Reporting party stated that an individual had stolen an item from a local store. The individual was identified as Benjamin N. Miller of Ely. He was issued a citation for petit larceny.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that during a traffic stop Marcos M. Valenzuela age 20 of Ruth was arrested for turn signals required, driving without a driver’s license, and minor in consumption. A passenger in the vehicle was identified as Erica M Banda age 19 of Ruth. She was arrested for minor in consumption.

Report of a fight—Officer reported that when they arrived the parties involved had left the area.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that she broke up with her boyfriend, but he keeps calling her and following her around town. The reporting party wanted the incident documented. A report was completed.

Report of a trespasser—Reporting party stated that an individual had been trespassed from his property. The reporting party stated he has seen the individual on the property several times. The reporting party was advised to call when the person returns.

Report of a civil problem—Reporting party stated that she is moving out of her rental, but the landlord put a lock on a shed where some of her property is being stored. The reporting party was advised to work with her landlord to remove the property.
