The White Pine High girls’ track and field team won the Bulldog Early Bird track meet at Virgin Valley High School in Mesquite on March 11. The boys finished third.

Freshman Madison Rick won the 200 meter race with a time of 27.15 seconds. Sophomore Lily Fullmer won the 400 meters at 1:04.44. Senior Lucy Fullmer won the 100 meter hurdles at 18 seconds flat, followed by younger sister Lily at 18.66 seconds.

The 4×200 meter relay team, made up of  Alicia Pascascio, Samantha Gamberg, Deborah Partey and Mikinley Prengel, won with a time of 2:01.47. The 4×400 meter relay team also won, with the Fullmer sisters, Prengel and Rick finishing the race in 4:27.61.

Sophomore Emma Boren won the shot put with a toss of 28 feet, 5 inches. Lucy Fullmer won the high jump at 5 feet, 3 inches. Prengel won the triple jump at 32 feet, 3 inches.

In boys’ track, Junior Sam Stewart won the 800 meter race with a time of 2 minutes, 15 seconds. He also won the 1600 meters at 5:03.61 and won the 3200 meters at 11:11.79. He finished 2nd in the 400 meters at 55.43 seconds.

The team travels to Elko High School on Saturday, March 19 to compete in a league meet.
