APRIL 5

Report of an accident—Facundo Meza Jr of Elko was operating a vehicle traveling on Elko / Hamilton Stage Road when he fell asleep. He allowed his vehicle to leave the roadway causing it to overturn. An accident report was completed.

Report of an agency assist—Officer assisted D.C.F.S. on the service of a warrant to remove a child. No problems were reported.

Report of fraud—Reporting party stated that an individual had rented a room at a local motel. When it was time to pay the bill for the room the individual failed to do so. The individual then left the area. Investigation continues.

Report of a theft—Reporting party stated that upon her reviewing security video at her place of employment she observed an individual steal several items. Investigation continues.

Report of threats—Reporting party stated that he received a threatening message from an individual over Face Book. The individual and their parents were contacted and advised of the problem. A report was sent to Juvenile Probation.

APRIL 6

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that during a traffic stop Tyler Ferrin age 21 of Las Vegas was arrested on an Ely Justice Court warrant and for driving suspended.

Report of an alarm—False alarm.

Report of a problem with a subject—Officer received a report of an altercation that was taking place and one of the individuals involved had a knife. Officers patrolled the area, but no one was located.

Report of a found bicycle—The bike was placed into lost and found.

Report of harassment—Reporting party stated that they received a letter in the mail that was suspicious in its content. Investigation continues.

Report of a juvenile problem—Officer received a report of two students that had gotten into an altercation at school. The students were contacted and a report was sent to Juvenile Probation.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that someone had planted listening devices in his apartment. Officer listened to the reporting party concerns and a report was completed.

Report of bad checks—Reporting party stated that he had received several non-sufficient funds checks from an individual. The checks were collected and turned over to the District Attorney’s Office for collections.

Report of a suspicious vehicle—Officer contacted the occupants of the vehicle and reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of property damage—Reporting party stated that some PVC pipes had been broken at her home. It’s in unknown how the items were damaged. A report was completed.

Report of a problem with a subject—Officer received a report of an individual cleaning equipment in the street which was causing chemicals to flow down the roadway. Officer contacted the individual and reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of a horse caught in a cattle guard—The report was given to the Ely BLM Office.

Report of a lost and found item—Officer reported that while patrolling the McGill Pool area he located a bowling bowl and bag. The item was placed into lost and found.

Report of possible stolen property—Reporting party stated that his landlord moved some property into his shed that might be stolen. Officer checked the property and reported at this time the items had not been reported as stolen.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that during a traffic stop Nicholas Newmark age 32 of Hesperia, CA was arrested on an ICE warrant out of the state of AZ.

Report of an accident—Officer received a report of a vehicle accident on US 6. Officer reported that a three wheeled motorcycle had struck a semi-truck. Officers assisted NHP with the accident scene.

Report of a welfare check—Officer contacted the individual to check his welfare and while doing so located a party that was taking place at the residence. Officer reported that illegal drug use was going on at the party.  During the officers investigation Keith A. Hill age 22 of Ely was arrested for obstructing a police officer. Officer reported that twenty individuals were involved at the party.  Investigation into the use and possession of the illegal drugs continues.

APRIL 7

Report of a welfare check—The subject was not located.

Report of a stolen vehicle—The reporting party claimed a relative stole her car, but she did not know any information about the vehicle.  Another family member was contacted and said there is no car and he didn’t know what the reporting party was talking about.  Stolen vehicle report is unfounded at this time.

Report of a theft—The reporting party claimed her roommate stole some of her personal property.  The investigation continues.

Report of a public nuisance—The offending part was contacted and agreed to remedy the problem.

Report of a problem with a subject—The dispute was deemed civil in nature.

Report of a fatal accident—Rodney Loper, of Ely, passed away due to injuries suffered during a vehicle accident.

Report of found drug paraphernaila—Reporting party stated that she had located an item of drug paraphernalia laying in a parking lot of a local business. The item was collected and destroyed.

Report of a suicidal subject—Officers contacted the individual and reported that no assistance was requested.

Report of possible child abuse—Officer received a report of a child that had been struck by his mother several times in his face. Officer contacted the child who confirmed the allegation. Investigation continues.

Report of an accident—Officer reported that Jerrica F. Gubler age 19 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant. During her arrest she was also found to be in possession of marijuana.

APRIL 9

Report of a dog problem—Officer received a report of two dogs that were running at large and had gotten into a fight. The owners of the dogs were contacted and advised they needed to keep their dogs contained.

Report of a theft/arrest—Reporting party stated that someone had been using his debit card without his permission and had purchased several items. During the officers investigation it was determined that the reporting party had given consent to several people to use his debit card to buy items for him. Officer reported that Sherman Hawkins age 54 of Ely was arrested for filing a false report.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Kimberly J. Douglas age 38 of Ely was arrested on a Carson City felony warrant.

Report of a dog problem—Officer received a report of a several dogs running at large. Officer located the dogs and was able to capture one of them. He was placed into the dog pound.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Clinton Fikes age 52 of Ely was arrested for expired registration, lighted lamps required, D.U.I # 2, and no insurance.

Report of a fight—Officer received a report of a large fight that was taking place at a local bar. Officer contacted several individuals that were involved in the altercation and they all requested no law enforcement action. A report was completed.

Report of a juvenile problem—Officer received a report of a juvenile that was out of control and was destroying property in her home. Officer contacted the juvenile and reported that she was taken to E.R. for medical assistance.

Report of a fight—Officer received a report of a fight that was taking place at a local bar. Officer contacted the parties involved who were engaged in a verbal argument. They were advised to keep the peace.

Report of a theft—Reporting party stated that two individuals had done some work inside her home and now her jewelry is missing. Investigation continues.

Report of a theft—Reporting party stated that an individual stole an item from a local store. Investigation continues.

Report of property damage—Reporting party stated that someone had broken several windows on his vehicle. Investigation continues.

Report of an open door at a home—Officer received a report of an open door on a vacant home. The home was checked and the door secured.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that during a traffic stop Autumn R. Gordon age 35 of Ely was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstructing a police officer.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Kristopher W. Grant age 41 of McGill was arrested for driving without a valid license, under the influence of a controlled substance, and D.U.I. drugs.

Report of a dog problem—Officer located the dog running at large and it was placed into the dog pound.

Report of a theft—Reporting party stated that an individual had stolen her cell phone. During the officers investigation the reporting party located her phone in her home.

Report of a juvenile problem—Reporting party stated that several juveniles were throwing rocks at cars. The area was patrolled, but the juveniles were not located.

Report of a pig problem—Reporting party stated that her neighbors pig was running at large. When officers arrived the neighbor had gotten the pig and returned home.

APRIL 11

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that James A. Robison age 32 of Ely was arrested for tail lamps required, driving suspended, D.U.I. and under the influence of a controlled substance.

Report of a disturbance—Officer received a report of an individual who had damaged some property at a family member’s home. The individual had fled the area. He was later located and identified as James V. Lafferty age 36 of Ely. Lafferty was arrested for driving suspended and D.U.I. He was also detained due to an outstanding warrant.

Report of a suspicious vehicle—Officer located the vehicle and reported that the vehicle belonged to an individual living in the area.

Report of a juvenile problem—Reporting party stated that her juvenile son had been threatened by an adult. Officer contacted the parties involved who advised the problem was over a juvenile being bullied. The incident was documented.

Report of suspicious circumstances—Reporting party stated that she had located a large amount of human hair at a local park. Officer reported that the hair had been cut and possible left in the area. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF AN ATV DISTURBANCE

Reporting party stated that an ATV was causing a disturbance due to it being operated on a county road. The area was patrolled, but the ATV was not located.

REPORT OF A TRUANCY

City — officer received a report of a student that was truant. When located the student will be issued a citation for truancy and a report was sent to Juvenile Probation.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM

City — reporting party stated that several juveniles were loitering around on city property. The area was patrolled, but the juveniles were not located.

REPORT OF AN OPEN DOOR

City — officer reported that he located several open doors on a business that was closed for the night. Officer checked the building and the doors were secured.
