The Silver State Classic Car Challenge roared thru town last weekend bringing many repeat racers and new race participants to Ely to try their luck in the race on Sunday.  Several local children took the opportunity to jump in the passenger seat of the race cars and cruise down the road in the parade on Friday.

Saturday’s sunny skies and light breezes, brought a perfect setting for a car show and a Pancake Breakfast sponsored by the Ruth Volunteer Fire Department. The breakfast was cooked up by a collaborative effort of all the local fire departments and EMS volunteers. The proceeds from this event will go towards the purchase of new equipment for the Ruth Volunteer Fire Department.

Many racers conversed with each other about tires, engines and the race, while spectators walked thru the rows of cars, snapping photos, and visiting with neighbors who were taking in the beautiful day as well.Pancake Breakfast1
