MAY 17

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Norma F. Lani age 45 of Ely was arrested for basic speed, no insurance and D.U.I.

Report of an accident—Officer reported that Noelle Wurtz a juvenile of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on 212 North. As she entered into a turn she lost control of her vehicle causing it to overturn. An accident report was completed.

Report of a suspicious subject—Officer received a report of an individual loitering on private property. When officers arrived the individual had left the area.

Report of an alarm—False alarm.

Report of a public nusiance—Reporting party stated that her neighbor has a large amount of garbage in his yard. The neighbor was contacted and advised to clean up the garbage and dispose of it.

Report of a missing juvenile—Reporting party stated that his juvenile son had left the Ely area without permission, with another juvenile. Investigation continues.

Report of a robbery—Reporting party stated that he had been robbed of his money and his prescription medication while in Wendover Nevada. A report was completed and sent to the Wendover Police Department.

Report of a theft—Reporting party stated that while visiting a friend’s home someone stole his prescription medication. The incident was documented.

Report of a domestic disturbance—Officer received a report of a domestic disturbance that was taking place. During the officers investigation Norman J. Nielsen age 33 of Ely was arrested. Nielson was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and injury to property. He is accused of damaging his girlfriend’s car by cutting the tires and breaking the windshield on the vehicle. He is also accused of throwing a metal T-Post at her.

Report of a problem with a subject—Officer received a report of a resident at the Care Center that was causing a disturbance. Assistance was provided to calm the resident.

Report of a problem with a subject—Officer received a report of an individual who was threating another person. The parties involved were contacted and advised to stay away from each other.

Report of a juvenile problem—Officer received a report of several juveniles pushing each other in wheelchairs in the roadway. The juveniles were contacted and no problems were reported.

Report of a domestic disturbance—Officer received a report of a domestic disturbance taking place at a local business. The individuals involved were contacted who stated that they were just arguing. They were advised to keep the peace.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Hazyn T. McGrath age 25 of Ely was arrested for Suspended vehicle registration, D.U.I., open container of alcohol in a vehicle, and possession of a firearm while intoxicated.

Report of a disturbance—The area was patrolled, but the ATV was not located.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Jonathan S. Cracraft age 37 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Justice Court warrant.

Report of a domestic disturbance—Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. The parties involved reconciled their differences and proceeded on their way.

Report of a domestic disturbance—Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that a female juvenile was detained for battering a family member. The juvenile was transported to the Elko Detention Center. A report was sent to Juvenile Probation.

Report of a reckless driver—The operator of the vehicle was contacted and he was issued a warning about his driving behavior.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Jason E. Robinson age 41 of Ely was arrested for failure to drive within marked lanes of travel and D.U.I.

Report of an accident—Reporting party stated that a bull had ran into her vehicle. The incident was documented.

Repoprt of a theft—Reporting party stated that someone had stolen gas out of his vehicle. The incident was documented.

Report of an alarm—False alarm.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that James E. McConnell age 41 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant. During the arrest McConnell was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

Report of harrassment—Reporting party stated that everywhere she goes she sees the same individual. Reporting party stated that the individual doesn’t same anything to her, but she finds it suspicious. The incident was documented.

Report of a theft—Reporting party stated that someone had entered into her home and stole some money. During the investigation a suspect was identified and she was issued a citation for petit larceny.

Report of suspicious circumstances—Officer reported that he observed a garage door to be open and a light flashing inside the garage Officer reported that the garage door was stuck. The owner of the garage was notified.

Report of an injured deer—Officer located the deer and reported that it had died due to injuries from being struck by a car.

Report of a reckless driver—The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of property damage—Reporting party stated that a vehicle had struck his fence causing damage. Officer located the vehicle, but the driver was not in the area. Investigation continues.

Report of a parking problem—Officer contacted the owner of the vehicle who was blocking a driveway.  The vehicle was removed.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that his ex-girlfriend was trying to break into his home. The parties involved were contacted and the ex-girlfriend was attempting to remove her property from the home. Officer reported that no crime had occurred.

Report of a domestic disturbance—Officer contacted the parties involved and reported that it was a verbal argument. The parties involved stated that the argument was over and no further problems would take place.

Report of a welfare check—The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of property damage—Reporting party stated that his girlfriend had damaged the molding on his trailer. During the officers investigation the incident was determined to be a civil problem due to the girlfriend living with the reporting party.

Report of an agency assist—Officer assisted medical staff with the movement of a patient.

Report of a welfare check—The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Juandedios Flores age 19 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of property damage—Reporting party stated that an individual parked his car next to his and when he exited his car he door dinged him. The parties involved exchanged insurance information. The incident was documented.

Report of an unattended child—Officer received a report of a child playing outside an apartment complex without supervision. The parent of the child was contacted who advised a family member was supposed to be watching the child. The incident was documented.

Report of an accident—Reporting party stated that while traveling on SR893 he struck a cow causing damage to his vehicle. A report was completed.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Michiela M. Medina age 27 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of an alarm—False alarm.

Report of malicious mischief—Reporting party stated that someone had sprayed silly string all over his vehicle. Officers have identified the culprit and will contact him and his parents.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that his brother was intoxicated and refusing to leave his home. Officer contacted the individual and identified him as James V. Lafferty age 36 of Ely. Officer reported that Lafferty was arrested for obstructing a police officer.

Report of a domestic disturbanc—Officer contacted the parties involved who gave conflicting statements on what had taken place during their argument.  The parties involved had separated for the night.

Report of a dog at large—Officer captured the dog and it was taken to the Ely Dog Pound.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Blake Z Delucia age 20 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Jacquiline N. Malenosky age 36 of Elko was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of an arrest—Officer reported that Willie T Lee age 82 of McGill was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that an individual had brought a dog into a local business and the operator of the business wanted the individual removed. When officers arrived the individual had left the area.

Report of an alarm— False alarm.

Report of a theft—Reporting party stated that he was selling several items and two individuals claimed that some of the items he was selling belonged to them. The individuals took the items and left. Investigation continues.

Report of bad checks—Reporting party stated that a check she had received for the purchase of items at her place of business had been returned to her for lack of funds. The check was collected and the investigation continues.

Report of an accident—Richard Solberg of Ruth was operating a vehicle traveling east on Aultman Street. Hsu Chen Chang of Boise, ID was operating a vehicle making a left hand turn off Aultman Street. Solberg failed to stop at a red signal light and collided into Changs vehicle. An accident report was completed and Soloberg was issued a citation for failure to obey a traffic control device.

Report of a problem with a subject—Officer received a report of an individual who was damaging items inside a home. When officers arrived they made contact with the home owner who requested no assistance.

Report of a problem with a subject—Officer contacted the individual and she was taken to E.R. for medical assistance.

Report of a domestic disturbance—Officer received a report of a domestic battery that was taking place. During the officers investigation Eric Armstrong age 43 of Ruth was arrested for domestic battery with strangulation and false imprisonment. Armstrong is accused of battering and strangling a family member and not letting her leave the residence.

Report of a public nuisance—Officer contacted the home owner and advised him to remove the trash from his yard and take it to the land fill.

Report of a reckless driver—Officer located the vehicle which was parked and unoccupied.

Report of a stolen vehicle—Reporting party stated that she had left her vehicle at a local parking lot and when she went to retrieve it the vehicle was gone. Investigation continues.

Report of a suicidal subject—Officer contacted the individual and reported that she was taken to E.R. for medical assistance.

Reporting party stated that someone had egged her car. The incident was documented.

Officer contacted the parties involved who were arguing over property. The individuals involved separated for the day.

City — the individual was contacted and warned about the way he was operating a vehicle.

City — officer contacted the parties involved and during the officers investigation arrested Cody V. Irby age 23 of Ely. Irby was arrested for domestic battery. He is accused of battering his girlfriend.

REPORT OF A FOUND DRUG PARAPHERNAILA

City — officer collected the item and destroyed it.

REPORT OF A PRIVATE PROPERTY ACCIDENT

City— Dawn Betlach of Ely was operating a vehicle and was backing up.  She failed to see a vehicle being operated by Brittany King of Lamar, CO behind her.  Betlach’s vehicle struck Kings vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT

City — officer received a report of an individual who made a threat towards another person. The threat made had included the use of a firearm. Officer contacted the parties involved and the investigation continues.

Report of a fight—Officer received a report of a fight that was taking place at a local residence. Officer contacted the parties involved who gave conflicting statements on what had taken place. One of the individuals involved was taken to E.R. by ambulance. The investigation continues.

Report of a suspicious subject—Officer contacted the individual who was traveling through the area. No problems were reported.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that an employee was stealing money from his business. During the officers investigation it was determined to be a civil problem due to an agreement the employee and employer had entered.

Report of a death—Officer reported that James L. Stubbs age 63 of Ely died at his residence of natural causes.

Report of a problem with a subject—Officer contacted the individual who was attempting to obtain information about his banking account from a local bank. The individual was assisted and he then left the area.

Report of a trespasser—Reporting party stated that they are moving out of a residence and had left some items inside the home. When they returned to get the items someone had gone through them. Officer reported that nothing was missing. The incident was documented.

Report of identity theft—Reporting party stated that someone had used his identity to open a PayPal account. PayPal was contacted and the account was canceled. An identity theft packet was completed to report the incident to the State.

Report of a domestic disturbanc—Officer contacted the parties involved who were engaged in a verbal argument over the ownership of a vehicle. The parties involved separated for the day.

Report of a private property damage—Brandon Baker of Preston was operating a vehicle and was backing up. He failed to see a parked vehicle behind him belong to Aron Huntington of Ely. Baker’s vehicle struck Huntington’s vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that their neighbor keeps yelling at her children. Officer contacted the neighbor who stated that he doesn’t yell at the children, but at their dogs who keep barking. Officer contacted the reporting party and advised her of the dog problem. Both parties involved were advised on the proper procedure to handle any further problems.

Report of a person littering—Reporting party stated that an individual in a vehicle threw out several water bottles while traveling down the roadway. The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of a dog problem—Reporting party stated that several dogs chased his vehicle while driving down a roadway. The report will be given to Animal Control.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that she observed an individual who had a small child sitting on his lap while driving a vehicle. Officer contacted the individual who admitted to the accusation. He was advised of the consequence of his actions.

Report of possible drug use—Officer received a report of several individuals possibly smoking marijuana. The individuals were contacted and no drugs were located.

Report of a problem with a subject—Reporting party stated that she received an unwanted text message from an unknown individual. The message was documented due to the threat that was insinuated in the message.
