Mrs. Corina Vigil Marrujo, 87, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas Nev.
She was born in El Carmen, N.M. to Rosendo Vigil and Onofre Aragon.
She was united in marriage to Jacobo Marrujo in 1946 in Mora, N.M. They were married for 43 wonderful years.
The couple came to White Pine County, Nev. in August 1951. Corina was a homemaker while Jacobo was employed at Kennecott Copper Corp. Later in life, the couple co-owned Pete’s Drive-Inn with their children and owned the Deser-est Motel.
During their retirement, the couple made their homes in North Ruby Valley, Nev. and Silver Springs, Nev. After Jacobo’s death, Cornina moved back to Ely, Nev. where she resided until she passed.
Corina is remembered fondly by her family as a pillar of strength and support. She took a great deal of pride in her family and the way she kept her home. She loved to cook and garden and there was nothing better than her homemade tortillas.
There are no words to express how her presence will be missed by her family and those whose lives she touched.
Mrs. Marrujo is survived by her sister; Laura Esquibel, her children and their spouses; Kenneth Marrujo, Ethel (Raymond) Bennett, Earl (Pennie) Marrujo and Leroy Marrujo, eight loving grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Milner Vigil.
Rosary will be held Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 900 East 11th Street, Ely, Nev. A funeral Mass will be held on July 8, 2016 at 10 a.m. Interment to be held at the Ely City Cemetery followed by a friend and family reception at St. Lawrence Hall.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Marrujo; what a kind and wonderful person. She always remembered me, even though many years would pass without contact, and of course Leroy was always by her side. My sincere condolences.
Just read about your mother’s passing Kenny and Earl….You know, God could not be everywhere so He created mothers and she lived a long wonderful life. But I know that families can be together forever and know that I will someday see my dear grandmother Black and mother. And you will have that same opportunity to be reunited with your loved ones. God bless you and your families.
Always n’ Ever Geph
