The Ely Elks Lodge held a Flag Day ceremony on June 14 at the Ely Elks Lodge 1469 on camp ton. A crowd of people attended the event where patriotic songs were sung, a prayer was issued by Rev. Red Simms, and a history of he flags that have flown over this country was presented by Elks Exalted Ruler Gayle Bartlett, with the actual flags that were cited, being posted. Also a story of battles the flag has flown over was ready the Leading Knight Alan Lafferty and a patriotic address by four-year trustee Ken Curto was read. The Bristlecone Drill Team conducted the Posting of the Colors at the event opening and he Retirement of the Colors at the event’s conclusion.
