July 12

Report of a welfare check — Officer contacted the individuals and reported that they were fine.

Report of an injured dog — Reporting party stated that he had struck a dog with his vehicle, causing damage to his vehicle. The dog had also been injured. The reporting party was taking the dog home to care for it. The incident was documented.

Report of debris in the roadway — Officer located several items in the roadway and removed them.

Report of a disturbance — Officer contacted the owner of the disturbance and advised her of the complaint.

Report of a watering violation —  Officer responded to the residence and reported that the water had been turned off.

Report of threats — Reporting party stated that during a public meeting, she had been threatened. The reporting party was allowed to sign a complaint for assault which will be served on the accused.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that he was moving out of his rental, but his landlord was not letting him retrieve his property. The landlord was contacted who agreed to meet the reporting party so he could remove his property.

Report of a deer problem — Reporting party stated that there were several deer in her yard. When officers arrived the deer were gone.

Report of property damage — Reporting party stated that someone had damaged several trees at a local park. The incident was documented.

Report of a disturbance — The area was patrolled, but no music disturbance was located.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that several juveniles were coming onto her property and stealing items. The parent of the juveniles were contacted and advised of the complaint.

Report of a domestic disturbance —  Officer received a report of a domestic disturbance that was taking place. During the officer’s investigation, Brian Bainbridge, 32, of Ely, was arrested for domestic battery and child abuse. He is accused of battering a family member and putting a child that was present in danger.

Report of a found cell phone — The phone was placed into lost and found.

Report of a found wallet —  The owner of the wallet will be notified.

Report of threats — Reporting party stated that she is receiving text messages from an individual who lives in another state. The individual is blaming her for things that have taken place in her life. The incident was documented.

Report of a juvenile problem — Reporting party stated that a juvenile was pulling branches off a tree. The juvenile and her guardian were contacted and advised of the problem.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Ricky T. Miears, Jr., 26, of Ely, was arrested on two Justice Court warrants.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that she was moving out of her rental and her landlord threw some of her belongings away. The items were retrieved from the trash and returned to the reporting party.

Report of a problem with a subject —  Reporting party stated that he was closing his business in Ely and was removing the items out of the store. The reporting party felt that a family member might interfere with what he was doing and wanted the family member trespassed from the store. The family member was not located.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a domestic disturbance — Officer contacted the parties involved who gave conflicting statements on what had taken place. The parties separated for the night.

JULY 13

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that she heard strange noises in her backyard. The area was patrolled, but nothing was located.

Report of an intoxicated pedestrian — The individual was contacted and advised to stay out of the roadway.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that during a traffic stop, an occupant of the vehicle who was identified as Alfonso A. Cardenas, 30, of Surprise, Ariz.,  was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, use of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual was doing work in the city area but she was not licensed to do so. Officer attempted to locate the individual, but she had left the area.

Report of a welfare check — The individual was contacted and was fine.

Report of a dog problem — The report was given to Ely Animal Control.

Report of a welfare check — Officer received a report of two juveniles who were hitchhiking. The juveniles were contacted who denied the allegation. The mother of one of the juveniles was contacted, arrived and took the boys home.

Report of a violation of a protective order — Reporting party stated that an individual whom she has a protective order against drove by her home. Investigation continues.

Report of a trespasser — Officer contacted an individual who was causing a disturbance at a local business. The individual was trespassed from the property.

Report of threats — Reporting party stated that her son has been receiving phone calls from an individual wanting to fight him. Officer is attempting to contact the person making the threats.

Report of a missing person — Reporting party stated that he went hiking with a friend and they got separated and now he can’t find her. Both parties involved were located and reunited.

Report of a domestic disturbance —Officer contacted the parties involved who reported that it was a verbal argument. The parties involved had already separated for the night.

Report of a suspicious vehicle — Officer contacted the occupants of the vehicle and reported that they were just hanging around, playing games.

Report of suspicious circumstances — Reporting party stated that he heard an individual screaming. The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen her bicycle. A report was completed.

JULY 14

Report of a  missing juvenile — The reporting party said her minor son got into an argument with his father and then left.  The parents had not seen him since. The investigation continues.

Report of a welfare check — The subject was located and was fine.

Report of an accident — Kara Anderson, of Utah, and Richard Seely, of McGill, both entered a non-controlled intersection at the same time and struck each other. A report was completed.

Report of fraud — The reporting party claimed to be getting several calls from a person who claims they won money.  The reporting party was advised it was a scam.

Report of a trespasser — The agent of a local business complained about a patron not leaving. The patron was trespassed from the property and left without incident.

Report of an intoxicated pedestrian — The pedestrian was located and was indeed intoxicated. A family member arrived to make sure he got home.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of cows on a roadway — The owner of the cows was notified.

Report of an accident — Diane L Parsels of Boise, Idaho, was operating a vehicle and was turning into a private drive. A vehicle behind her was being operated by Meghan C. Hendrix of Lund. Hendrix failed to stop behind Parsels causing an accident. An accident report was completed and Hendrix was issued a citation for following too close.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen her medication from her home.

Report of an accident — The report was given to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Report of a private property accident — Richard H. Rigg of Driggs, Idaho, was operating a vehicle pulling into a parked position when he struck a parked and unattended vehicle belonging to Angela D. McVicars of McGill. An accident report was completed.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that he is having problems with an individual and needed information on how to trespass him from the property. The information was provided.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Anna Hutchison, 20, of McGill, was arrested on a Ely Justice Court warrant

Report of a reckless driver — The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

Report of an abandoned vehicle — The vehicle was tagged for removal.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Tracy Boyer, 51, of Ely, was arrested for D.U.I. and open container of alcohol in a vehicle.

JULY 16

Report of a problem with a subject — Officer received a report of several individuals camping at a local park and one of them had no clothes on. Officer contacted the individuals who denied they weren’t clothed. They advised that they were just changing their shirts. The subjects left the area.

Report of an abandoned vehicle — Reporting party stated that someone abandoned a vehicle on his property. He was advised he could have it towed.

Report of a domestic disturbance  — Officer received a report of a female who was hitting a male subject. The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Report of an attended child — Reporting party stated that he located a small child walking near a roadway. The reporting party had taken the child back to its home. Officer contacted the babysitter of the child who stated that the child had snuck out of the residence. The babysitter was advised to keep a better watch on the child.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a custody problem — Reporting party stated that it was his weekend to have his child for visitations, but the mother of the child was refusing to bring the child to Ely. Officer contacted the mother of the child who advised she had only enough gas money to bring the child halfway to meet the reporting party. The father of the child had no money to meet the mother halfway for the child exchange.  The incident was documented.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual had made some sort of comment about getting him later as he passed by him in a local bar. The individual was contacted who denied the allegation. The parties involved were advised to stay away from each other.

Report of a theft — Reporting party stated that someone had stolen his backpack from the bed of his truck. A report was completed.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that an individual had put nails in the roadway. Officer contacted the individual who stated that she had done it to keep people from parking in front of her home. She was advised to remove the nails and the consequences of her actions.

Report of an accident — Officer received a report of a vehicle that had struck a fence and then fled the scene. Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle and during his investigation, received information that the individual had been involved in two separate domestic battery incidents. The individual was identified as Randy Drake, 40, of Ely. Drake was arrested for domestic battery, abuse of an elderly person, interruption of a telecommunication device, domestic battery with substantial bodily harm, and child endangerment. He is accused of battering his spouse with a baseball bat with children present in the area. He is also accused of battering another family member and damaging a phone rendering it inoperable.

Report of a juvenile problem — Officer received a report of several juveniles throwing rocks. The area was patrolled, but the juveniles were not located.

Report of a reckless driver — Officer contacted the operators of the vehicles involved and warned them about their driving behavior.

Report of a reckless driver — Officer was unable to locate the vehicle but spoke to the operator’s father and advised him about the complaint.

JULY 17

Report of an unregistered vehicle — Officer contacted the parent of the child who was operating a dune buggy riding around a local park. The parent was advised of the consequences of allowing their child to ride on the park.

Report of a missing juvenile — Officer reported that the juvenile was located sleeping in another part of the home.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that he went to check a residence for a friend and found several people inside. He said a confrontation took place with the people. Officer contacted the parties involved and trespassed them from the property. The incident was documented.

Report of a fire — Reporting party stated that she observed several fires near the McGill School playground equipment. The fire was extinguished by the McGill Fire Department. Investigation continues.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that William P. Sigloch, 56, of Twin Falls, Idaho, was arrested for following too closely, D.U.I., and open container of alcohol in a vehicle.

Report of an animal problem — Officer received a report of two horses that are being abused. Officer contacted the Brand Inspector, who was aware of the situation and reported that no abuse was occurring.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that she observed an individual enter into a vacant home. Officer contacted the individual in the home who had permission from the home owner to stay there.

Report of an open door— Officers received a report of an open door on a vacant home. The home was checked and the door was secured.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Andre V. Paez Jr., 33, of Ely, was arrested on two Ely Justice Court warrants.

Report of a private property accident — Shusila Singh of Ely, was operating a vehicle and stuck an awning at a local motel. The incident was documented.

Report of a vehicle blocking a roadway — Officer reported that a semi-truck had become stuck in the roadway when he had made a turn onto a county street. A tow truck was requested and assisted the semi driver.

Report of a man with a gun — Officer received a report of a man carrying a gun while walking down a roadway. The area was patrolled, but the person was not located.

Report of an open door — Officer received a report of an open door on a vacant home. The home was checked and the door secured.

Report of an arrest — Officer reported that Michiela M. Medina, 27, of Ely, was arrested on a violation of drug court.

Report of a dog problem — Reporting party stated that a dog was without food or water. Officer checked on the dog and reported that it had food, water and shelter.

Report of an alarm — False alarm.

Report of a welfare check — The area was checked, but no one was located.

Report of suspicious subjects — Reporting party stated that two juveniles tried entering into her home. The subjects them fled the area. The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

Report of a problem with a subject — Reporting party stated that she was having problems with an individual whom she allowed to stay at her home. The reporting party was advised she would need to evict the individual.
