Antonio “Tony” DiCianno age 92 years, of Ely, Nevada passed away August 9, 2016 in Ely. He was born April 17, 1924 in San Pietro Avellana, Italy to Amico and Carolina DiCianno.
Tony worked for Kennecott Copper Industry for 30 years as a Railroad Track Foreman, retiring in 1978. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Tony enjoyed bass fishing, and cutting wood with his family. He was an avid outdoors-man. Tony was also great at wood working.
Tony is survived by his son Dino DiCianno of Carson City, NV; daughter Julie DiCianno of Albuquerque, NM; grandson Nick DiCianno of Carson City and sister Teresa DiCianno of Ely. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Annie DiCianno; daughter Ann DiCianno and brother Emillio DiCianno.
The Recitation of the Rosary is scheduled for Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 7:00 P.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ely, NV. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 19th at 10:00 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial to follow in the Ely City Cemetery. Following the burial a luncheon will be held at the St. Lawrence Hall.
Pallbearers will be Michael DiCianno, Michael Iannachione, Carl Iannachione, Nino Iannachione, Dr. Jeffery Matteoni and Kevin Matteoni. Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard DiCianno, Romolo DiCianno, Don Matteoni, John Gianoli, Rob Gelskey, Jim Hollinger and Reg Petersen.

Every time I went to the White Pine Care Center, I made it a point to find Antonio so I could shake his hand and ask him how he was doing. He always had the same reply, “God Bless You!” God Bless You, Antonio. It was a pleasure having him as a friend! My sincerest condolences to Dino, one of my friends from High School, and to his family and friends.
