Percent Contained:  91 percent

Current Resources: One Type 1 hand crew, five Type 2 hand crews, two Helicopters; eight Engines; two bulldozers; one water tender. Total Personnel:  291. The 7,695-acre Overland Fire located in White Pine County, about three miles west of the Bald Mountain Mine or five miles south of the Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge, is 91 percent contained.

Full containment is expected by 6 p.m., this evening. The lightning-ignited fire continues to smolder in mule deer, elk and pronghorn antelope habitat. The fire this week consumed pinion-juniper, brush and grasses.  Approximately 81 acres of Greater Sage Grouse general habitat also burned.

Firefighters continue to fully suppress the fire. Firefighter and public safety are the top priority. The Nevada Incident Management Team Four, led by Jason Cain, is managing the suppression effort.

The fire was first reported at 1:18 p.m., Aug. 8.
