SEPTEMBER 26

REPORT OF A BURGLARY—City – the reporting party claimed an unknown subject entered her workplace and took several items.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM—City – the reporting party claimed a juvenile was sending threatening messages via social media to another juvenile.  The suspect was contacted and advised to stop.  A report was completed and submitted to Juvenile Probation.

REPORT OF CHILD ABUSE—City – the report was unfounded.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES—The reporting party claimed that a powered, aerial vehicle that does not carry a human operator, which uses aerodynamic forces to provide vehicle lift, and can be piloted remotely, was being circumnavigated in a careless, possibly precarious manner.  The aviator was contacted and denied the claim, but said he was storing his UAV for the night.

SEPTEMBER 27

REPORT OF A BUSINESS ALARM—The building was checked and found to be secure.  The owner arrived and the interior was checked.  Everything appeared to be normal.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM—City – the reporting party claimed a child was refusing to go to school.  The juvenile was located and taken to school.  The juvenile was also deemed a habitual truant and issued a citation for truancy.  A report was completed and forwarded to Juvenile Probation.

REPORT OF A HIT AND RUN—City – the reporting party claimed an unknown subject struck her vehicle while it was parked at a local business.  The striking vehicle then fled the area.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT—City – Reed Robison, of Ely, stopped for a pedestrian crossing the road, when he was struck from behind by Jerry Sena, of Ely.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM—City – the administrator of a local school advised that a child had brought a bullet to school.  The issue was handled by school staff and the parent of the child.

REPORT OF AN ALARM—The alarm was set off accidentally by an employee.

REPORT OF A PRIVATE PROPERTY ACCIDENT—City – Samuel Garcia, of Ely, reported that he was backing from a parked position in a private parking lot and struck a parked unoccupied vehicle.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A PRIVATE PROPERTY ACCIDENT—City – Jennifer Robinson-Randall was backing from a parked position and struck a parked unoccupied vehicle.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT—City – the reporting party claimed a suspicious subject was sitting in a local park.  The subject was located and checked out okay.

REPORT OF FOUND PROPERTY—City – a local motel employee reported finding a purse with a large amount of currency in an unoccupied room.  Contact was made with the owner, who said they’d pick it up the next day.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK—City – the individual was contacted and he requested no assistance.

REPORT OF A WELFRAE CHECK—City — the individual was contacted and she advised she was fine and needed no assistance.

REPORT OF A FRAUD—City – reporting party was contacted by an individual over the internet providing her with a personal online loan. The reporting party provided the indidvual with her banking information and then discovered that the indidvual was defrauding her. A report was completed.

REPORT OF A THEFT—City – reporting party stated that someone had stolen his medication from his residence. A report was completed.

REPORT OF AN ALARM—False alarm.

REPORT OF A TRESPASSER—City –reporting party stated that an individual had been trespassed from his place of business, but the person has returned. Officer contacted the individual and identified him as Michael A. Valencia age 33 of McGill. Valencia was arrested for trespassing.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT—Officer received a report of a vehicle accident located on SR 318. Officer reported that one of the individuals involved in the accident was identified as Joseph C. Knaack age 50 of Elko, NV. Knaack died at the scene of the accident due to inures he had sustained. The accident is being investigated by the Nevada Highway Patrol.

REPORT OF POSSIBLE CHILD ABUSE

City — officer received a report of a child who had a bruise on her arm. Officer contacted the parent and the child and documented the incident.

REPORT OF A DOG AT LARGE

Officer captured the dog and placed it back into its contained yard.

City — officer attempted to contact the individual, but he was not at home.

REPORT OF A SEXUAL ASSAULT

City — officer received a report of a female who had been sexually assaulted Investigation continues.

REPORT OF A PRIVATE PROPERTY ACCIDENT

City — Jennifer Jenkins was operating a vehicle and was backing up. She failed to see a parked vehicle behind her belonging to Douglas Salisbury. Jenkins vehicle struck Salisbury’s vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

REPORT OF A THEFT

Reporting party stated that an individual had turned his water back on after the water board had turned it off. The individual was contacted and the situation was resolved.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT

Steven Campbell of Ely was operating a vehicle on Pennsylvania Ave when he allowed the vehicle to slid off the roadway causing it to tip onto its side. An accident report was completed.

REPORT OF A LOST AND FOUND BACKPACK

Officer patrolled the area, but the backpack was not located.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT

City— reporting party stated that her neighbors keep spitting and leaving cigarette butts on her sidewalk. Officer contacted the neighbors and advised them of the complaint. They stated they would not do it anymore.

City — reporting party stated that she observed an infant riding in a vehicle and the infant was not in a car seat. The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

REPORT OF A DEAD DEER IN THE ROADWAY

The area was patrolled, but the deer was not located.

Officer received a report of an individual walking alongside a rural roadway acting strange. The area was patrolled, but the person was not located.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK

City — the individual was contacted and was fine.

REPORT OF A HIT AN RUN ACCIDENT

City — reporting party stated that while her vehicle was parked at a local parking lot someone struck it with another vehicle. The striking vehicle had fled the scene. Investigation continues.

City — reporting party stated that an individual was removing motor parts from a vehicle that belonged to her. Officer contacted an individual who provided information on the person who was removing the parts. Investigation into the incident continues.

REPORT OF AN INTOXICATED PERSON

City — officer reported that he located an intoxicated person laying on the sidewalk near a roadway. The intoxicated person was contacted and she was able to contact an individual by phone who gave her a ride home.

REPORT OF A LOST AND FOUND BICYCLE

City — the bike was collected and placed into lost and found.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT

City — reporting party stated that an individual had moved out of his home, but was now trying to come back into the home claiming he wanted to check to make sure he had obtained all his property. The parties involved were contacted and the individual was advised he had no interest in entering back into the home. He was advised any missing property he would have to handle through civil court.

City — the phone was collected and placed into lost and found.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER

Officer located the vehicle and reported that no problems were observed.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM

City — officer reported that he located several small children playing outside without supervision. The individual who was watching the children was contacted and spoken to about his supervision skills.

City — reporting party stated that her employer had fired her and demanded she move out of her rental that he owns. The parties involved were contacted and the employer was advised he would have to serve and eviction notice on the reporting party.

City — the parties involved were contacted who stated that they had been battered by the other. The parties involved separated for the day.

REPORT OF A POSSIBLE DRUNK DRIVER

City — officer located the vehicle which was parked and unoccupied.

REPORT OF A DOG BITE

City — reporting party stated that their child had been bitten by the family dog. The reporting party wanted the incident documented. A report was completed.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE

City — officer located an open door on a delivery truck. The owner of the truck was contacted and the door was secured.

REPORT OF A DISTURBANCE

City — officer contacted an individual who had his stereo in his vehicle turned up excessively. He was advised to turn the music down.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH SUBJECTS

City — officer reported that he located several individuals who had consumed alcohol and were under the legal age to do so. One adult was issued a citation and released to a family member and a juvenile was detained and also released to a family member. A report for the juvenile will be completed and sent to Juvenile Probation.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK

City — officer contacted the indidvual and reported that he was taken to E.R. by ambulance for medical assistance.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT

Officer assisted the Nevada Highway Patrol on a vehicle accident located on SR318.

The area was patrolled, but the individual was not located.

REPORT OF A SHOPLIFTER

City — officer contacted the individual who had entered a local store and had taken an items and did not pay for it. The store clerk had him pay for the item and then trespassed him from the store.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT

City — officer received a report of an individual loitering around a local business attempting to enter parked vehicles. Officer contacted the individual and trespassed him from the property.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT

City — reporting party stated that an individual who had been trespassed from her place of employment had returned. Officer contacted the individual and identified him as Dillon T. Hollis age 24 of Henderson, NV. Hollis was arrested for trespassing.
