The Office of Traffic Safety, Joining Forces held a training and awards banquet in Las Vegas.

Sgt. Sean Wilkin and Deputy Steve Saunders from the White Pine County Sheriff’s Office were honored at the banquet for their outstanding performance. Both Deputies were praised for their dedication to the community they serve, for their work performance and their willingness to work extra hours to promote the Joining Forces effort.

The Sheriff’s Office applies for a Traffic Safety Grant each year which provides money for deputies to work overtime to enforce traffic laws. Deputies work the events which include DUI enforcement, seat belt enforcement, speed, and distracted driving. The Sheriff’s Office received $28,500 this year from the Office of Traffic Safety to work these event.
