The White Pine County Sheriff’s Department was recently called upon by the Nevada Bureau of the FBI destroy some marijuana plants that they had confiscated from tribal lands in the county.
“We were contacted by the FBI,” said Sheriff Dan Watts. “Thy brought them to us and we destroyed them.”
Watts said he was told the FBI had confiscated the plants because it was not a legal grow and had not been approved by the federal government. The extent of the sheriff’s department’s involvement, however, was only in destroying the plants. He referred all other questions to the FBI, which when contacted declined to comment.
