OCTOBER 31

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — officer received a report of an indidvual who was causing a disturbance at a local casino. The individual was contacted and trespassed from the business.

REPORT OF AN INTOXIACTED PEDESTRAIN: City — officer reported that he located an individual who was intoxicated walking down the middle of a roadway. The individual was identified as Hector Rodriguez age 34. Rodriguez was arrested for intoxicated person in a roadway.

REPORT OF A CHILD CUSTODY PROBLEM: City — reporting party wanted to file information about ongoing child custody issues. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTRUBANCE: Officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. The parties involved separated for the day.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: Officer located the vehicle and reported that it was red tagged for removal.

REPORT OF A FRAUD: Reporting party stated that she had lost her debit card and someone had used it without her permission. The reporting party had notified her bank and a report was completed.

REPORT OF THREATS: City — reporting party stated that she had received information about a person possible making threats towards her. The information was documented.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that a juvenile had entered into her place of business and had stolen an item. The juvenile was contacted along with his parent and a report was sent to Juvenile Probation.

REPORT OF A THEFT: Officer received a report of a stolen firearm from a residence. Officer reported that no theft had occurred. The firearms had been removed by a family member.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: City — officer located the vehicle and it was tagged for removal.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — officer contacted the individual and reported that she was fine.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that Angela Henefer age 27 of Ely was arrested on an Ely District Court warrant.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: Reporting party found a large bag and believed there could be a body inside. The bag was checked and it was full of foam insulation.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: The area was patrolled, but the person was not located.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: Charles Dudley of Ely was operating a vehicle on Lackawanna Road. He stated that a deer entered into the roadway and he struck it with his vehicle causing to the front end. A report was completed.

REPORT OF A CIVIL PROBLEM: Reporting party stated that the renters of his home have not been paying their rent. He was advised of the civil eviction process.

REPORT OF A FIGHT: City — the area was patrolled, but no problems were located.

REPORT OF A MISSING JUVENILE: City — reporting party stated that he was to pick up his juvenile daughter at a designated place, but she did not show up. Officer reported that the juvenile had gotten a ride home with a friend.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that Devin R. Wooten age 30 of Ely was arrested on a probation violation.

NOVEMBER 1

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City – the parties involved were contacted and it was discovered to be verbal only.  The parties separated for the night.

REPORT OF AN INTOXICATED SUBJECT: City – an intoxicated subject was allegedly wandering through a parking lot attempting to enter into parked vehicles.  The area was checked, but the subject was gone.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City – 33 year old McGill resident Athara McKenzie was arrested after creating a disturbance in a public area.

REPORT OF AN UNATTENDED DEATH City – Jerrold Meyer, of Ely, passed away at his residence due to health conditions.

REPORT OF AN ALARM: City – the alarm was accidentally set off by the occupant.

REPORT OF AN ATV DISTURBANCE: Contact was made with the operator and he was advised of the complaint.

REPORT OF A SHOPLIFTER: City – Kade Ewing, of Ely, was issued a citation for leaving the store without paying for merchandise he had on his person.

REPORT OF A FIGHT: City – the reporting party, assistant manager of a local drinking establishment, claimed a subject had been verbally abusive to the bartender, with whom he is in a dating relationship.  The subject had left the establishment prior to law enforcement arrival.  He was later located and claimed he did nothing wrong.  The subject was advised that he was trespassed from the business.

NOVEMBER 2

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City – 24 year old Cameron Draper, of Ely, was arrested on an outstanding bench warrant.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City – the reporting party claimed his girlfriend had battered him.  Based on the investigation, 52 year old Terri Herrera, of Ely, was determined the dominant physical aggressor and arrested for domestic battery.

REPORT OF A NON-INJURY ACCIDENT: City – Lindsey Jacobson, of Ely, failed to yield from a stop sign and caused a vehicle being operated by Mikinley Prengel, of Ely, to strike her.  Jacobson was issued a citation.

REPORT OF A HIT AND RUN: City – the reporting party claimed an unknown vehicle struck his own, causing damage.  The striking vehicle then fled the scene.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: The subjects were located and appeared to be fine.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City – the reporting party claimed an unknown subject took pain medication from her home.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City – an agent of a local store claimed a female took merchandise from the store without paying.  The theft was captured on video.  The suspect, later identified as Heather Carrasco, of Ely, was located and issued a citation for petit larceny.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City – the reporting party complained several juveniles were spraying water and throwing rocks.  The kids were warned about their actions.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – the reporting party believed two subjects were trespassing in his trailer, but he later realized no one was there.

REPORT OF AN ALARM: City – the alarm was accidentally set off by an employee.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City – the reporting party claimed her juvenile son was refusing to come home.  The son was later located and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.  The juvenile was released to his mother and a report will be submitted to Juvenile Probation.

NOVEMBER 3

REPORT OF A FIRE: City — officer received a report of a fire located at the Hotel Nevada. When officers arrived they were informed by employees of the Hotel that a dryer had caught fire, but had been extinguished. Ely Fire Department assisted in smoke removal.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: City — reporting party stated that she had seen several juveniles messing around with a dead owl. Officer contacted the juveniles who stated that they had found the dead owl and were using it to play jokes on their friends.

REPORT OF A FIRE: Report was given to the County Fire Department.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC BATTERY: Officer contacted the parties involved who blamed the other for the incident. The parties involved had separated for the night.

REPORT OF AN AMBULANCE ASSIST: Officer assisted the county ambulance with a female who needed medical attention.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: City — officer patrolled the area, but no one was located.

REPORT OF HARASSMENT: City — officer contacted the person involved who advised no problems were occurring.

REPORT OF A PRIVATE PROPERTY ACCIDENT: City — Harry Johnnie of Duck Water was operating a vehicle attempting to park. As he did so he struck a parked vehicle which had been operated by Sharon Barbee of Ely. An accident report was completed.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: City — reporting party had obtained a note from a student that concerned her about the student’s welfare. The principal of the school where the student attends was contacted who met with the student. No problems were reported.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that William C. Hagedorn age 37 was arrested during a traffic stop for driving suspended.

REPORT OF A DOG BITE: Reporting party stated that he had been bitten by his own dog. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City — Stanley McCart of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on 12th Street. Alicia Leduc of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on Ave K. As both vehicles entered into the intersection McCart failed to yield the right of way to Leduc causing an accident. An accident report was completed and McCart was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City — reporting party stated that his juvenile daughter was refusing to come home from her boyfriend’s home. Officer contacted the boyfriend who is an adult and advised him to have no more contact with the juvenile. The juvenile was returned home.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that during a traffic stop Jean P. Hegbloom age 33 of Spokane WA was arrested on an Elko Justice Court warrant.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: City — the vehicle was checked and no problems were reported.

NOVEMBER 5

REPORT OF A LOST CELL PHONE: City — the phone was located and returned to the owner.

REPORT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE: City — reporting party stated that someone had broken into a vacant building. The building was checked and no one was located inside. Officer reported that nothing had been stolen.

REPORT OF A BATTERY: Reporting party stated that he had gotten into an argument with his brother and his brother had struck him with a shovel. Officer attempted to contact the brother, but he had fled the area. Investigation continues.

REPORT OF A FOUND BIKE: The bike was placed into lost and found.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that she keeps getting phone calls from an individual and she wants them to stop. The caller was contacted and advised to stop calling the reporting party.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: Reporting party stated that an individual is burning garbage next to her home. The individual was contacted who was burning twigs. He was advised to contact the Sheriff’s Office for a controlled burn notice.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: Officer reported that Christopher P. Walker age 44 of McGill was arrested for basic speed, DUI, and open container of alcohol in a vehicle.

REPORT OF DEBRIS IN THE ROADWA: Officer reported that someone in the McGill area is placing hazardous material in the roadway. The material was removed from the road. Investigation continues.

NOVEMBER 6

REPORT OF A FIRE: City — the report was given to Ely Fire Department.

REPORT OF MALICIOUS MISCHIEF: Reporting party stated that someone had thrown apples at his vehicle. The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

REPORT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE: Reporting party stated that someone had cut the tires on his vehicle. Investigation continues.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: The individual was contacted and officers reported that she was fine.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City — reporting party stated that several juveniles threw rocks at her juvenile son. All the parties involved were contacted along with their parents and advised of the problem.

REPORT OF A BATTERY: Reporting party stated that he had gotten into an argument with an individual over a TV remote. He stated that the individual then struck him several times. Investigation continues.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — officer contacted the parties involved who had engaged in a verbal argument. The parties involved were advised to keep the peace.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: City — officer contacted the subject and reported that during his investigation arrested Michael A. Valencia age 33 of Ely. Valencia was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, use of a controlled substance, possession of a dangerous drug, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that he had his vehicle towed and the tow company stole the key to his vehicle. Officer contacted the tow company who denied the allegation. The incident was documented.
