REPORT OF AN ALARM: City — false alarm.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

REPORT OF SEVERAL SUSPICIOUS SUBJECTS: City — officer contacted the individuals who were going to work. No problems were reported.

REPORT OF A CITIZEN ASSIST: Officer assisted an elderly male who had fallen out of bed and needed assistance.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — officer assisted an individual who needed to remove his property from a residence. No problems were reported.

REPORT OF A DEAD DEER IN THE ROADWAY: The deer was removed.

REPORT OF A THEFT: The reporting party, a representative of a local utility, reported a subject had illegally acquired services.  A citation will be issued to the owner of the residence.

REPORT OF A CUSTODY ISSUE: City – the reporting party was unsatisfied with her living arrangements with her mother and wanted to move in with her father.  The minor was advised the situation needed to be handled through the courts.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: 37 year old Lorenzo Enriquez was arrested at his residence on a District Court warrant.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – the area was checked, but the subjects could not be located.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: John Hensley lost control of his vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway and roll.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City – 41 year old Ely residence Christina Coombs, of Ely, was arrested at her residence for an outstanding warrant.  During a search incident to arrest, Coombs was discovered to be in possession of a device commonly used to inhale a controlled substance.

NOVEMBER 30  

REPORT OF A THEFT: Reporting party stated that someone had stolen a package that had been left by a local deliver company at her residence.

REPORT OF A POSSIBLE THEFT: City — reporting party stated that someone had either stolen or had not returned several firearms, bows and air rifles from a local shooting club. Investigation continues.

REPORT OF RECKLESS DRIVERS: The area was patrolled, but no problems were located. More patrols will be conducted in the area.

REPORT OF A CIVIL PROBLEM: Reporting party stated that he needed an individual to move out of a trailer that is located on his property. Officer spoke to the parties involved and reported that it was a civil problem and to proceed with the proper eviction process.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: City — officer located the vehicle and reported that no problems were located.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that she needed assistance in getting a vehicle key back from an individual. Officer assisted the reporting party.

REPORT OF A HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT: Reporting party stated that someone had struck several mail boxes with a vehicle. The striking vehicle had fled the scene.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS NOTE: Reporting party stated that someone had left a note on his door complaining about his dogs barking. The incident was documented.

DECEMBER 1  

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — the individual was contacted and was fine.

REPORT OF A LOST HUNTER: Officer received a report of a possible lost hunter. Search and Rescue located the individual who had gotten stuck in his vehicle. The individual returned to his camp.

 REPORT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE: City — reporting party stated that the back window on her vehicle had been broken. A report was completed.

REPORT OF A BUSINESS LICENSE VIOLATION: City — officer contacted the business and issued them a citation for doing business without a license and selling alcohol without a license.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that a student at a local school had stolen several items from a teacher. Officer contacted the student and her parent and a report was sent to Juvenile Probation.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: Reporting party stated that he located several footprints in the snow around the outside of his home. The incident was documented.

 REPORT OF AN OPEN DOOR: Reporting party stated that a door was open on a vacant home. The home was checked and the door secured.

REPORT OF A CUSTODY PROBLEM: City — officer contacted the parties involved and permission was given for the juvenile to stay with a family member.

REPORT OF FOUND PROPERTY: City — officer reported that a wallet had been left at a local gas station. The wallet was collected and the owner will be notified.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that Lawson N. Thayer age 30 of Ely was arrested for headlamps required, driving suspended, and

DECEMBER 2 

 REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that Kyle A. Kaamasee age 33 of Ely was arrested for DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstructing a police officer.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: Officer contacted the parties involved who stated they had been arguing. They were advised to keep the peace.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City — Bruce Pay of McGill was operating a vehicle making a right hand turn from Aultman Street onto Great Basin Blvd. Reed Robison of Ely was operating a vehicle making a left hand turn from Aultman Street onto Great Basin Blvd. Robison failed to yield to Pay who had the right of way causing an accident. Robison was issued a citation for failure to yield and an accident report was completed. REPORT OF

A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — officer received a report of an individual operating a wheelchair down a roadway. Officer contacted the individual and assisted him across the street and onto the sidewalk.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — the individual was contacted and was fine.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER: City — reporting party stated that an individual operating a vehicle did so in a reckless manner almost causing an accident. Officer reported that the individual will be issued a citation when located.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: Officer contacted the parties involved and during his investigation arrested Jose Griego age 22 of Ely. Griego was arrested for domestic battery. He is accused of battering his girlfriend.

REPORT OF A DOG PROBLEM: City — reporting party stated that his neighbor’s dog has been barking for several days. Officer attempted to contact the owner of the dog, but they were not at home. Officer reported that the dog was without food or water. The dog was taken to the Ely Dog Pound and the owner will be issued a citation when located.

DECEMBER 3

REPORT OF AN ARREST: A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding and spoke to the driver, identified as 19 year old Ely resident Larry William Perkins Jr.  Perkins was later arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City – as a deputy was assisting with a disabled vehicle, he discovered the operator of the vehicle, identified as 23 year old Ely resident Natalie Marina Salinas, has a bench warrant.  Salinas was arrested without incident.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – deputies located the subject of the welfare check and discovered that she was a vulnerable person per Nevada Revised Statutes and had been neglected by her care giver.  The care giver, identified as 44 year old Ely resident Amy Elizabeth Sandy, was arrested for neglect.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: City – the subject was gone when officers arrived.

DECEMBER 4

REPORT OF A FIGHT: City – when officers arrived, the fight was over and the instigator had fled the scene.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: City – the subject was located and was just sleeping in his vehicle.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – the reporting party claimed a female was in his house and refused to leave.  Contact was made with the female who then left without incident.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: A subject was reportedly acting strange and perhaps suicidal.  Contact was made with the person who claimed to be fine.

REPORT OF A BUSINESS ALARM: City – the building was checked and found to be secure.

REPORT OF THREATS: The reporting party claimed he was threatened by a step-parent because of his behavior.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – the reporting party claimed her care giver was asking to use her car for personal use.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City – a deputy conducted an investigative stop on a vehicle and discovered the driver, identified as 66 year old Elko resident Kathie Jean Tempel, had a suspended driver’s license.  Tempel was taken into custody.  During a search incident to arrest, she was discovered to be in possession of a substance which tested presumptively positive for methamphetamine.

REPORT OF A DEATH: City – a 59 year old male was discovered deceased in bed by his partner.  No signs of foul play were discovered.  The investigation continues.
