Candyce Humphries was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of four. At the end of her fifth grade year she was able to wean off her medication, and luckily stayed seizure free since.

Candyce has been running track since her sixth grade year. She has improved year after year. She would set goals that she would try so hard to reach, unfortunately she did not hit the one she set for herself in middle school, which was to beat the record school time, but she tried.

She hardly ever misses a practice, or a meet.

This year she has set a goal for her 800m. She has improved her time every week and cut off about 26 seconds already this season.

Candyce, now 17, would like a chance to go to Austrailian Down Under trip and is fundraising to get there.

Fundraisers are planned for April 15 with a Bake Sale at Ridleys from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., a yard sale at 3534 N. 151 E off 347 St. on the McGill Highway (turn left on 347 St. before Club 50) from 10 a.m.- ?.

T-shirts are being sold and will have order forms available at the yard sale and bake sale.

If you are interested in a t-shirt, please contact Candyce on her Austrailian Down Under Facebook page or email: There is also a donation box located at the Centrail Theater, and a go-fund-me account on her Facebook page.
