The staff of SVHS is proud to announce the student of the month for April 2017, Emily Prindle.

Emily is a senior at SVHS and is the daughter of Kristie and Ross Sr. Rivera. She has lived in Ely her whole life and has three siblings. She volunteers at the WPC Library, WPC Children’s Art Festival, and Vacation Bible Schools during the summer. She likes to play volleyball and babysit little kids. She enjoys watching Grey’s Anatomy and 13 Reasons Why on Netflix.

After graduation, she plans on taking classes at Great Basin College until the spring and then go up to Snow College in Utah to be a nail technician.

Emily has overcome so much adversity and has really worked hard in her classes, including working on the weekends. She was dealt a bad hand in life and recently been diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis), but didn’t let it bring her down and always has a positive attitude. She is very polite and respectful.

Although she has been a student at Steptoe Valley High School a short amount of time, she has made a positive impact on the students and staff.  She enjoys working with Mr. Pantello in Math, her favorite class this year.

The SVHS staff is happy to recognize and celebrate Emily’s accomplishments.  She has been a great addition to our school and we are happy to be able to have helped her reach her goal of graduating high school.
