This annual train ride takes passengers on a trip back in time aboard a steam-powered train to the copper mine. On the return trip back to Ely, the train pulls in to the best vantage point for the Ely fireworks display. The event is held July 4 in celebration of Independence Day.“The July 4 Train is a spectacular way to celebrate Independence Day,” said Mark Bassett, President of the Nevada Northern Railway Museum. “Enjoying a train ride before the Ely fireworks show is something you can only experience here at the Nevada Northern Railway.” Passengers are encourage to bring lawn chairs and blankets with them to set up at the fireworks site.
The train departs at 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost $39 for adults and $20 for children (4-12).The July 4 Fireworks Train is just one of the exciting events that happen in Ely during the Fourth of July.
