SEPTEMBER 11 

REPORT OF A MISSING PERSON: City — officer received a report of an elderly male that had left his home and hadn’t returned. Officer located the person and he was returned to his home.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City — officer received a report of a juvenile shooting a gun at signs. Officer located the juveniles involved who were shooting an air soft gun. They were warned about discharging air guns in the city limits.

REPORT OF A STOLEN VEHICLE: Reporting party stated that her boyfriend took her vehicle without her permission. Officers are attempting to locate the vehicle.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: The report was given to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: City — officer contacted the person who was doing exercises. No other problems were located.

REPORT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE: City — reporting party stated that someone had damaged his vinyl fence by putting holes in it. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A DEATH: Officer reported that Richard Wiltcher age 67 of McGill died at his residence due to natural causes.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: Officer contacted the parties involved who were arguing over problems that could occur during a pending surgery. The parties involved were advised to keep the peace.

REPORT OF A MOTORCYCLE DISTURBANCE: City — officer patrolled the area, but the motorcycles were not located.

REPORT OF AN ANIMAL PROBLEM: Reporting party located a dead deer in her yard. The deer was removed.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER: City — the area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — officer contacted one of the parties involved who stated that she had gotten into an argument with her boyfriend. She stated that during the argument the boyfriend had damaged her phone. The boyfriend had left the area. Investigation into the incident continues.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: City — the area was patrolled, but the person was not located.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that during a traffic stop on a vehicle the operator was identified as Melodee Breitrick age 56 of Ely. Breitrick was arrested for failure to yield right of way, use of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine and DUI.

REPORT OF A FIRE: The report was given to the Ely BLM.

REPORT OF FOUND PROPERTY: City — officer reported that the property was collected and released to a family member.

REPORT OF A STOLEN VEHICLE: City — reporting party stated that her stolen vehicle had been returned. The reporting party requested no law enforcement action be taken. A report was completed.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — officer contacted the mother and child and reported that they were fine.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that someone had stolen her prescription medication. A report was completed.

REPORT OF A STOLEN VEHICLE: Reporting party stated that while her vehicle was parked at a local business it had been stolen. Investigation into the incident continues.

REPORT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE: City — reporting party stated that her juvenile son had damaged a door and wall in their home. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City — reporting party stated that her juvenile daughters were fighting and wanted them spoken to by law enforcement. Both juveniles were spoken to about getting along.

SEPTEMBER 13 

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that an intoxicated person was causing a disturbance at a local business. The person was contacted who was confused about where he was going to stay the night. Officer contacted a family member who stated that he could stay with him. He was transported to the family member’s home.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — the person was contacted and she was fine.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — officer attempted to contact the mother and child, but no one was home.

REPORT OF HARASSING PHONE CALLS: City — reporting party stated that she keeps getting phone calls from an unknown person advising her she is eligible for grant money. The reporting party was advised it was a scam. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF THREATS: City — reporting party stated that she is being harassed by her ex-boyfriend. The reporting party wanted a report completed. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — officer contacted the parties involved who were involved in a verbal argument. The parties involved were advised to keep the peace.

REPORT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE: City — officer received a report of several juveniles who had damaged another person’s phone. Officer contacted the juveniles along with their parents and a report will be submitted to Juvenile Probation.

REPORT OF A SCAM: City — reporting party stated that he was communicating with a female on line and they made arraignments to meet. The reporting party sent the person money so she could obtain transportation. The person then stopped communications with the reporting party. The reporting party was advised it was a scam and to discontinue any further contact with the person.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A JUVENILE: City — officer received a report of a juvenile who had thrown another juveniles phone out the window of a school bus. Officer contacted the juvenile and his mother and obtained information on why the incident had occurred. A report will be sent to Juvenile Probation.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: Officer reported that during a traffic stop Everett Rhodes age 52 of Cherry Creek was arrested for basic speed, expired registration, DUI, use of a controlled substance, and ex-felon failure to register

.REPORT OF A THEFT: Reporting party stated that several fishing poles a trolling motor and battery had been stolen from the bed of her vehicle.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that an individual comes into her place of work and harasses her. The person was contacted and advised to stop his contact with the reporting party.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that a roommate was no longer keeping up his end to their agreement for rent. The reporting party wanted the person removed for her home. The reporting party was advised she would need to evict the person.

REPORT OF A DOG BITE: Reporting party stated that while he was walking near a residence a dog jumped the fence and bite him. Officer reported that the owner of the dog was issued a citation for dog at large and vicious dog.

REPORT OF A NOISE DISTURBANCE: City — officer contacted the occupant of the home and advised him to turn the music down.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — officer contacted the other and children and reported that they were fine.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: City — officer located the vehicle and reported that no problem were located.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that Samuel R. Garcia Jr age 31 of Ely was arrested on an Ely Municipal Court warrant.

REPORT OF A DISTURBANCE: City — officer contacted the responsible party who was working on some equipment. He was advised to keep the peace.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER: City — officer received a report of a vehicle that was speeding near a school zone. Officer contacted the operator of the vehicle who denied the allegation. He was issued a warning.

REPORT OF WELFARE CHECK: Officer contacted the person who stated that she was fine.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — the mother and child were contacted and were fine. No problems were reported.

REPORT OF THREATS: City — reporting party stated that he had been threatened by another individual. The reporting party wanted the incident documented in case of further problems. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: The reporting party stated that someone had left a note on his trailer stating that they were going to have it towed. Officer reported that the trailer in question was parked properly and no problems were located.

REPORT OF A TRUANCY: City — officer received a report of a student that was truant from school. The student was issued a citation for truancy and a report was sent to Juvenile Probation.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that Dillon Lewis age 26 of Ely was arrested on a District Court warrant.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that her cell phone had been stolen. Officer contacted the person who had the phone and she provided it to the officer. The officer returned the phone to the reporting party who requested no further law enforcement action be taken.

REPORT OF A VIOLATION OF A PROTECTIVE ORDER: Reporting party stated that an individual had violated a protective order she had against him. Officer reported that the protective order hadn’t been served. Officer contacted the person and served him the order.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City — reporting party stated that he had been threatened by another juvenile due to a prank he had played on him. The incident was documented.

SEPTEMBER 15

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — the person was contacted and she was fine.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: Officer received a report of an intoxicated person who was refusing to leave a person’s home. The individual was contacted and provided a ride to his residence.

REPORT OF AN OPEN DOOR: Officer located an open door on a vacant home. The home was checked and the door was secured.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City — officer received a report of several juveniles running into traffic. The area was patrolled, but the juveniles were not located.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City — Theodore I Jackson of Ely was operating a vehicle pulling into a parked position. As he did so he struck a parked vehicle belonging to Andrea L. Wisemore of Ely.  An accident report was completed.

REPORT OF PRIVATE PROPERTY ACCIDENT: City —- Jennifer Bronson of Ely was operating a vehicle and was backing up. She failed to see a vehicle behind her belonging to Brandi B. Ashdown of Ruth. Bronson’s vehicle struck Ashdown’s vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed.

REPORT OF AN ATTEMPT TO LOCATE: City — the area was patrolled, but the person was not located.

REPORT OF A LOST AND FOUND ITEM: City — reporting party located a cell and turned it into the Sheriff’s Office.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that a renter of a motel room stole several items from the room. Officers are attempting to locate the renter of the room.

REPORT OF A CUSTODY PROBLEM: City — reporting party stated that her juvenile daughter was visiting her father and now the father was refusing to return their daughter. Officer contacted the father and daughter and the daughter was requesting to stay with the father. Officer reported that no child custody order was in place. The parties involved were advised to obtain a child custody court order.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that his wife came to his home and removed all his clothing. Officers are attempting to locate the wife.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City — Arielle B. Fishel of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on Aultman Street. Fishel attempted to change lanes and failed to see a vehicle occupying that travel lane. This vehicle was being operated by Ryan M. Nelson of Ely. Fishel’s vehicle struck Nelson’s vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed and Fishel was issued a citation for unsafe lane change.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: City — reporting party stated that someone had removed a screen from a window on his residence. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A PRIVATE PROPERTY ACCIDENT: City — Crystal Fuentas of Las Vegas was operating a vehicle and was backing up. She failed to see a vehicle behind her belonging to Laura Heberlein of Seattle WA. An accident report was completed.

SEPTEMBER 17

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — officer contacted the parties involved who gave conflicting statements on what had happened. Both parties stated that the other person involved had battered them. The parties involved were advised to separate for the night.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that Rodney J. Lesher Jr age 20 of Ely was arrested for DUI and minor in possession of alcohol.

REPORT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE: City — reporting party stated that someone had damaged a door on a vacant home. The incident was documented and the seller of the home was contacted.

REPORT OF FOUND PROPERTY: Reporting party located several payment envelopes that belonged to the Forest Service. The envelopes were collected and delivered to a Forest Service Employee.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that someone had stolen his hunting bag and supplies from his vehicle. A report was completed.

REPORT OF LITTERING: Reporting party stated that someone had abandoned a wrecked truck on his property. Officer reported that the vehicle had been left there for the reporting party to salvage. No other problems were located.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that an individual came into his place of business and stole a bottle of alcohol. Officer reported that the theft had occurred the prior day. Investigation into the incident continues.

REPORT OF A CHILD BEING INJURED: City — reporting party stated that her children were playing with a razor and one of them cut themselves. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF BARKING DOGS: Officer located the dogs that were continually barking. Officer reported that the owner of the dogs was not at home. When located he will be issued a citation for barking dogs.

REPORT OF A DEATH: City — officer reported that Phillip J. Fickes age 77 of Ely died at his residence of natural causes.
