SEPTEMBER 25  

REPORT OF AN INJURED DEER: City — officer received a report of a deer that had been injured. Officer reported that the deer had been struck by a vehicle. The deer was put down due to injuries.

REPORT OF A DEATH: Officer reported that Richard Holen age 70 of Ruth died at a local residence in Ruth of natural causes.

REPORT OF ILLEGAL DUMPING: City — reporting party stated that someone had placed garbage in her dumpster. Officer identified the person who had placed the trash there and are attempting to contact him.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: The area was patrolled, but the individual were not located.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that he had rented a room to an individual at a local motel and it was past check out time and the person was refusing to leave. Officer contacted the person and advised him to leave. He complied.

REPORT OF A DISTURBANCE: City — officer received a report of a person who was disturbing the peace due to loud music. The person was contacted and advised to turn the music down.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: City — officer located the vehicle and reported that no problems were located.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City— reporting party stated that his roommate has been following him and has also threatened him. The roommate was contacted who denied the allegation. The parties involved were advised to keep the peace.

REPORT OF A DOG PROBLEM: City — reporting party stated that her son had been chased by a dog at large. The owner of the dog will be contacted and advised of the complaint.

REPORT OF AN ALARM: City — false alarm

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City — reporting party stated that her grandson had stolen an item from school and wanted him spoken to. Officer spoke to the child and advised him of the consequences of stealing.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that an older juvenile was yelling at her child and using vulgar language. The juvenile was contacted along with his parent and advised to use appropriate language and to stop yelling at children.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that an individual who has a restraining order against her just moved into a residence in the same neighborhood. The reporting party was advised that no violation of the order had taken place and to avoid any contact with the person.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: City — the area was patrolled, but the person was not located.

REPORT OF POSSIBLE DRUG SALES: City — reporting party stated that a vehicle occupied by male subject drove up to him and asked him if he wanted to purchase some drugs. The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

SEPTEMBER 26

REPORT OF A BUSINESS ALARM: City – the business was checked and found to be secure.

REPORT OF A DOG PROBLEM: The reporting party claimed two vicious dogs attacked her and were attacking her livestock.  Animal control arrived and the dogs were impounded.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: A local school called reporting a student threatening other students.  The student was counseled on his actions.

REPORT OF HARASSMENT: City – the reporting party claimed his estranged spouse was harassing him.  The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A GARBAGE PROBLEM: City – the reporting party claimed someone was throwing trash in her dumpster.  Attempts were made to locate the culprit, but the deputy was unsuccessful.

REPORT OF A TPO VIOLATION: City – the reporting party claimed to have sent a message to another person with whom she has a temporary protection order.  She was advised not to violate the order.

REPORT OF A CIVIL PROBLEM: City – the reporting party talked to an officer about a civil issue involving a vehicle and a former roommate.

REPORT OF AN ATTEMPTED SUICIDE: The subject was located and was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – the subject was contacted and agreed to behave.

SEPTEMBER 27  

REPORT OF A CITIZEN ASSIST: Officer assisted an individual whose vehicle had ran out of gas. He was provided transportation to obtain fuel.

REPORT OF A BARKING DOG: City — officer located the barking dogs, but the owner of the dogs was not at home. Contact with the owner will be made at a later date.

REPORT OF AN ALARM: City — false alarm.

REPORT OF A DISTURBANCE: City — officer contacted an individual who was allowing his semi-truck to idle near a residence. He was advised to remove it from the area or to turn it off. He complied.

REPORT OF FOUND HUMAN REMAINS: Reporting party stated while performing some work duties near a cave he located some possible human remains. Officer accompanied the reporting party back to the cave and no human remains were located.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City — officer received a report of a juvenile who was threatening to harm himself. Officer assisted in provided counseling in the situation.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER: City — officer reported that the operator of the vehicle was contacted and advised of the complaint.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City — Marcelle Swallow of Baker, NV was operating a vehicle traveling east on Ave H. As she entered the intersection she failed to yield to a vehicle being operated by Travis Morrison of McGill. Swallow’s vehicle struck Morrison’s vehicle causing damage. An accident report was completed and Swallow was issued a citation for failure to yield.

REPORT OF A SUICIDAL SUBJECT: City — the individual was taken to the ER for medical assistance.

REPORT OF A COW IN THE ROADWAY: The owner of the cow was contacted and advised of the problem.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that a family member had come to his home and was intoxicated and was causing problems. The family member was contacted and advised to leave the residence. He complied.

REPORT OF AN ALARM: City — false alarm.

REPORT OF A DOG PROBLEM: City — officer received a report of several dogs running at large. One dog was captured and taken to the City Dog Pound.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that an individual was outside her apartment causing a disturbance. Officer contacted the individuals involved and during his investigation arrested Richard G. Seely age 54 of McGill. Seely was arrested for trespassing.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City — reporting party stated that he was threatened by another student at school. Officer contacted a school official and advised her of the problem. Follow up will be done with the other juvenile involved.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS PHONE CALL: City — reporting party stated that she received a phone call from an unknown person advising her that a small child had just walked into her home. The caller then hung up. Officer reported that no further information was obtained. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER: City — the area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

REPORT OF A BATTERY: City — reporting party stated that a person had entered into her home and had assaulted her. Reporting party stated that the person had damaged some of her property in her house. Officers have identified the person and are attempting to locate him. Investigation into the incident continues.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that an individual had returned to his place of business after the person had been trespassed from the establishment. Officer contacted the person and advised her to leave. No other problems were reported.

SEPTEMBER 28

REPORT OF VANDALISM: City – several people made reports of their vehicles being damaged, all of which was within a few blocks of each other.  37 year old Adam James Anderson, of Ely, was located sleeping in one of the damaged vehicles.  Anderson was subsequently arrested for multiple counts of burglary tampering with a motor vehicle.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – the reporting party had concerns about a family member being in a certain house.  It was later discovered the family member lived in said home.

REPORT OF A THEFT: The reporting party has a contract with a corporation and believes someone is stealing them, which is affecting his profits.

REPORT OF LOST PROPERTY: The owner of a vehicle lost his license plate whilst hunting.

REPORT OF A MISSING PERSON: The reporting party reported her adult daughter was missing.  A report was completed and her daughter’s information was entered into the National Crime Information Center.

REPORT OF AN ATV DISTURBANCE: City – the area was checked, but the ATV was gone.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City – 39 year old Ely resident Shawn Evans, entered into a business with the intent to commit a larceny, and took property valued less than $650.  It was also discovered Evans had failed to change his ex-felon address registration within 48 hours of moving.  Evans was arrested without incident.

REPORT OF HARASSMENT: The reporting party claimed an ex-boyfriend was harassing her.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – the reporting party said there was a female in his home who was causing a problem and refused to leave.  The female was contacted and she left without incident.

REPORT OF A BUSINESS ALARM: City – the building was found to be secure.

SEPTEMBER 29  

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: The area was patrolled, but the vehicle was not located.

REPORT OF A DOG AT LARGE: City — reporting party stated that she had captured a dog that was running large in her neighborhood. The dog was taken to the Ely Dog Pound.

REPORT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE: City — reporting party stated that someone had damaged his vehicle by cutting one of his tires. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A LOST AND FOUND ITEM: City — reporting party stated that he had located a phone case which had a person’s C.C.W. permit inside. The owner of the items will be contacted.

 REPORT OF A LOST CHILD: City — reporting party stated that a small child had wandered into their construction zone. Officer reported that the mother of the child was contacted who stated that other family members were watching the child and had allowed her to leave the home. The mother and child were reunited.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: Officer located the vehicle and spoke to the operator. Officer reported that the person was sleeping in his car, due to he was homeless and traveling through the Ely area.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: The report was given to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City — officer received a report of a juvenile who was jumping in front of vehicles as they passed by. Officer contacted the juvenile who stated that he was doing it because he thought it was funny. The mother of the juvenile was contacted and advised of the problem.

REPORT OF A HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT: City — officer reported that a vehicle had stuck a stop sign causing damage to the sign. The striking vehicle had fled the scene.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that when her ex-boyfriend moved out of their home he took items she believed belonged to her. Officer reported that during his investigation it was determined to be a civil problem, due to both parties involved claiming the property belonged to them

 REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that a family member had stolen her medication. Officer contacted the family member who denied the allegation. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF AN ALARM: City — false alarm.

REPORT OF A FIGHT: City — officer received a report of people screaming and yelling at each other. The area was patrolled, but no one was located.

REPORT OF A DOG AT LARGE: City — officer reported that the owner of the dogs was out looking for them due to they had escaped from her yard. The dogs was returned to the owner.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City — reporting party stated that he had allowed some family members to move in with him and now he wants them removed. The reporting party was advised on the eviction process to have them removed from his home.

REPORT OF GRAFFITI: Reporting party stated that someone had spray painted some derogatory remarks on a roadway. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A DOG AT LARGE: City — the area was patrolled, but the dogs were not located.

REPORT OF A BURGLARY: City — reporting party stated that someone had gained access to his business after it was closed and removed some money. Investigation continues.

REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that someone had stolen her check book and was now cashing checks without her permission. Investigation continues.

REPORT OF DEBRIS IN THE ROADWAY: City — the tress limbs were removed from the road.

REPORT OF FOUND DRUG PARAPHERNALIA: City — reporting party stated that while cleaning out a home that had been rented they located some drug paraphernalia. The items were collected and destroyed.

REPORT OF ILLEGAL WOOD CUTTING: The report was given to the Ely BLM

REPORT OF A THEFT: City — reporting party stated that he was house sitting for a family member and when he went to check on the home he noticed that some lawn maintenance equipment was missing. A report was completed.

REPORT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE: Reporting party stated that someone had kicked the door to his residence causing damage. The incident was documented.

REPORT OF A LOST AND FOUND ITEM: City — reporting party stated that someone had left a firearm at a local motel room. The firearm was collected and placed into lost and found.

REPORT OF AN ALARM: City — false alarm.

REPORT OF THREATS: City — reporting party stated that an individual had threatened to punch one of her family members. The individual was contacted who denied the allegation. All parties involved were advised to stay away from each other.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: City — reporting party stated that someone was hiding in her closet. Officer checked the home and the surrounding area, but no one was located.

OCTOBER 1  

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City — officer reported that Jacob Hallett age 25 of McGill was arrested on a Tonopah Justice Court warrant. Officer reported that he was also arrested for DUI and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City — the individual was contacted and he was fine.

REPORT OF A MISSING CHILD: City — officer received a report of a small child walking down a roadway. Officer located the child who was dressed in pajamas and was looking for his family. Officer checked the neighborhood and located the father of the child who stated that the child had left the home while he was using the restroom. DCFS was contacted and will follow up on the incident.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City — reporting party stated that his girlfriend had struck him and then broke a window at their motel room. Officer contacted the girlfriend who stated that she did break the window, but didn’t hit the reporting party. The owner of the motel was notified of the damage and the parties involved were advised to stay away from each other.

REPORT OF A DOG AT LARGE: City — officer reported that the dog was captured and taken the Ely Dog Pound.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: City —officer received a report of a domestic disturbance that was taking place. Officer patrolled the area, but no one was located.

REPORT OF POSSIBLE DRUG USE: City — officer received a report of possible dug use at a local motel. Officer reported that during his investigation Jenna Delmore age 29 of Ely and Lucien H. Leflohic age 32 of Ely were arrested. Delmore was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, child endangerment, and allowing a child to be present were a controlled substance is used. Leflohic was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of a controlled substance.
