Nevada Legal Services honored James Beecher with Rural Attorney of the Year award. Beecher is Chief Deputy District Attorney with the White Pine County D.A.’s office. He was presented with the award last Friday, Nov. 3, in Las Vegas.

Beecher was selected for the award based on the amount of time he has spent volunteering for Nevada Legal Services.

Carolyn Schwartz said this also included each time she called Beecher for help with a legal questions or the filing process in White Pine. Beecher took great pride in working the @Ease event on June 8 in Ely where they assisted veterans draft sample wills and financial and healthcare directives.

Although Beecher works full time as the Chief Deputy District Attorney for White Pine, he finds time to volunteer with Nevada Legal Services.

He has been volunteering for approximately a year and a half, and was one of the first volunteers Schwartz worked with last year at one the ask-a-lawyer clinics.

Schwartz said “James quickly became my go-to person for questions, and he is always willing to volunteer his time for the clinics they host every month. Nevada Legal Services is very grateful for individuals likes James who are helping the community.”
