It’s a New Year!
It’s a time of new beginnings and new adventures. Setting goals for the new year is something everyone does. But along with new resolutions, individuals and organizations should reflect on the last year and consider how much they’ve accomplished or what they could have done better.
The White Pine Public Museum has come a very long way in just a short period of time. The buildings have been cleaned, new carpet installed, and many goals have been reached. But there is still much more to be done. Projects for this year are, construction of a new building to protect the stagecoach and wagon hearse, an updated inventory of our collections and painting the Cherry Creek Depot.
This past year, monthly events such as the LIFE magazine display, wine tastings, and the Vietnam Photography exhibit have helped to greatly improve our attendance for this year. In the next few months, there will be an antique quilt show, a recycled art show, and a Native American apparel exhibit, just to name a few. New this year, will be our quarterly “Special Events” which include, antique bottle diagnosing, a Paleo hunting exhibit and a knapping demonstration.
This Friday at 6:00pm, the Museum will host its Annual Meeting/Membership Drive, which is open to the public. We encourage everyone to join us, as there will be a presentation on the discovery of the Cave Bear as well as museum updates. Consider becoming a member or volunteer at the White Pine Public Museum.
