The Ely Rotary Club and the many Friends of the Derbidge Family have put together a benefit dinner to aid Jay Derbidge and his family.

Jay was diagnosed with Epitheliod Sarcoma Cancer and has had a long battle with this cancer.

Jay is a strong fighter but the cost of such a fight can be overwhelming. Shane Bybee said “it’s time for our community to come together as we always have and raise some much needed assistance for Jay and his family so all of his energy can be focused on his recovery.”

The dinner will be held on February 24, 2018 at the Bristlecone Convention Center at 150 W. 6th street, in Ely, Nevada.

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with cocktails, and a Spit Barbecue Dinner cooked by Shane Bybee and friends will follow at 6:30 p.m.

Several items will be auctioned off during the live auction, in addition to items being on display for the Silent Auction.

Raffles throughout the evening will be taking place as well. Tickets are $20.00 a person and $10.00 for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the Copper Queen, Mt. Wheeler Power, Desert Mountain Realty, Basin Engineering, Learning Bridge Charter School, Washington Federal, White Pine County Treasurer’s Office and Elysium Salon.

The event has already received an overwhelming response with items being donated for the auctions and raffles such as handmade quilts, original art work and photography, multiple guns, and box seats for two separate events at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

But, they still need your help! Any and all donated items are being accepted. If you’d like to donate an auction prize, bring a side dish, or help in any other way, please contact Shane Bybee at 775-293-0135. Bybee said “this will be a great night for us to come together as a community and show this amazing family how much they mean to us.”
