White Pine County has a rich history in both aviation and racing. It holds the Guinness World Record for the fastest speed on a public highway from the “Silver State Classic Challenge.” It’s also home to “Fears, Tears and Beers,” the oldest mountain bike enduro race in North America.
The Ely area offers great family entertainment opportunities such as camping, hiking, biking, fishing and swimming, plus golfing on an 18 hole gold course. You can also visit the Nevada Northern Railway Museum and ride the coal-fired steam engine (which is over 100 years old).
Great Basin National Park offers tours of the Lehman Caves and ample wildlife viewing. At sundown, you can see some of the best star gazing in the world. Learning programs are offered throughout the summer.
Join us in June as we blaze a record-breaking trail across the Nevada sky.
