Tyler Jakob  Lawrence and Kaycee Belle Schulz have been named Students of the Month for February, according to Ely Elks Lodge #1469.

Lawrence, age 14, is the son of Tom and Jaime Lawrence of McGill.

Schulz, age 13, is the daughter of Brent and Susan Schulz Stark of Ely. Both are 8th graders at Learning Bridge Charter School.

The Student of the Month program is sponsored by the Elks Lodge in an effort to bring recognition to outstanding students in the area.

Multiple achievement, citizenship, scholarship and leadership are the basis for selection of Students of the Month.

Lawrence has been active in football, baseball, track and basketball.  He is also a member of the Aaronic Priesthood.  His hobbies are shed hunting, hiking, exploring and video games.

Schulz has been active in LBCS events, helped with the Derbidge benefit dinner, is a member of the youth group at Bayside Church.  She is the President of the Student Council at LBCS, aids the handicapped and raises and lowers the flags at LBCS.  She is a forward on the soccer team and broke the 4×2 record in track. Schulz also participated the Elks Lodge “What Heroes Do” essay. Her hobbies are writing stories, reading books, playing the piano, drawing, exercise, watching movies and spending time with family.
