On Friday, March 23rd, local historian Mary Sorenson will be presenting a lecture on the early days of mining in White Pine County. Some of the topics to be discussed are the start of the Liberty Pit, Kimberly, mysterious deaths that occurred in the mining industry and the Miners Memorial. Also, on display will be photographs from Mrs. Sorenson’s private collection as well as copies of her recent books.
