On Friday, March 23, 2018, at the White Pine Public Museum, Mary Sorenson, local historian and author, shared a fascinating presentation about the history of mining in White Pine County.
She has spent thousands of hours researching and cross referencing for authenticity local sites, online documents, and listening to oral histories about mining. Her love for the local area and the residents who made this area what it is today through their grit and sacrifice in the mines dating back to the 1800s until the present day has been her motivation for recording this history.
Her hardbound book, Memories of the Ruth Mining Area, Robinson Mining District is available for purchase for $25.00 at no financial profit to her.
