Edna Jean Fisher, 88, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the White Pine Care Center in Ely, Nevada. Jean was born December 1, 1929 in Gilmer, Texas to Willie and Gladys White. She was the youngest, and only girl, joining brothers James and Bob.

Jean grew up in Tyler, Texas and graduated from Tyler High School. Jean married Fred Fisher in 1949. From that marriage came two children, Fred Jr and Phyllis. After spending a few years in Texas, the little family moved west for employment; first to California, and then to Nevada where Fred Sr. worked in security at the Nevada Test Site. They lived in Indian Springs, Las Vegas, and Tonopah. Jean was a supportive wife and devoted and loving mother.

After a divorce in 1974, Jean returned to live in Texas with her aging mother. For the first time in her life, she went to work outside of her home. She took great pride in her job at Southland Corporation. In 1994, Jean returned back to Nevada, this time to Ely, to make this her final home.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents and brothers. She is survived by her children, Fred (Maurine) Fisher of Ely and Phyllis (Tom) Sorhouet of Tonopah; five grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Services are planned for Saturday, August 18th at the Ely Nevada LDS Stake Center, with a visitation at 10:00 A.M. and funeral services at 11:00 A.M.. Interment will follow at the Ely City Cemetery.
