Information will not be withheld at the requests of persons whose names appear in the blotter or elsewhere in the newspaper that are released by the law enforcement agencies that include the WPCSO, Nevada Highway Patrol, Ely Shoshone Tribal Police and other local, state, federal agencies.

SEPTEMBER 3 

REPORT OF A MISSING JUVENILE: The juvenile was located at a nearby park.

REPORT OF SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: The party was contacted and was found to be moving property for the owner of the building.

REPORT OF SHOTS FIRED: While in his camp, the reporting party heard a gunshot and the bullet hit a tree branch near his camp.  He attempted to contact the person shooting, but they left before he could do so.  The deputy, and adjacent agencies attempted to locate the suspect vehicle, but were unable to do so.

REPORT OF A MUSIC DISTURBANCE: City – contact was made with the suspect, and she was advised to turn the music down.

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISPUTE: One party had left prior to law enforcement arrival.  The other half claimed to have only been arguing.

SEPTEMBER 4  

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City – the reporting party claimed a juvenile was knocking on his door late at night.  The juvenile was located and taken back to his mother.

REPORT OF A STOLEN VEHICLE: City – the vehicle wasn’t stolen.  The owner had forgotten where he had parked.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: The subject was located and was fine.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: 54 year old Kirk Mullins, of Las Vegas, was arrested for an outstanding warrant during a traffic stop.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – the subject was located and appeared to be okay.

REPORT OF A PARKING VIOLATION: City – the reporting party complained about numerous parking violations at a local school.  Additional patrol will be added to the area.

REPORT OF AN ABANDONED TRAILER: The trailer was red tagged for removal.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: 54 year old Elko resident Joseph Cathey was arrested for driving with a revoked license.

REPORT OF A CIVIL ISSUES: The reporting party claimed a male had struck her parked vehicle.  They agreed that the male would pay for the damage, but when he found out the cost, he stopped replying to her.  She was advised the issue was civil.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: City – the owner was located and removed the vehicle.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City – 25 year old Ely resident Charlee Christine Stones was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

SEPTEMBER 5 

REPORT OF A THEFT: City – the reporting party claimed someone stole a gas can from his vehicle.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: The subject wasn’t located.

 REPORT OF A MOTORCYCLE DISTURBANCE: City – the reporting party complained that motorcycles created a disturbance during a certain part of the day.  Additional patrol will be added to the area.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER: Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle.

REPORT OF AN ATV PROBLEM: The ATVs were gone when the deputy arrived.

SEPTEMBER 6  

REPORT OF A MISSING JUVENILE: City – the juvenile was located at a family member’s house.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – the subject was contacted and was fine.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – the subject was located and was fine.

REPORT OF THREATS: City – the reporting party claimed a male threatened to have her fired, and then left the business.  Deputies were unable to locate the male subject.

REPORT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE: City – the reporting party discovered at an unknown time, an unknown vehicle struck their fence, causing minor damage.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: The reporting party claimed someone had been yelling at his child and possibly caused him to hurt himself.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF A VAGRANT: City – the subject was contacted and given options for resources in the area.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – the subject was located and appeared to be fine.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City – Nickolas Betlach, of Ely, was stopped waiting to turn left, when he was rear-ended by Steven Brown, of Ely.  Brown was issued a citation.

SEPTEMBER 7 

REPORT OF A DOMESTIC DISPUTE: The parties were contacted and they claimed they were just arguing.  One of the parties, Marcus McGielberry, 57 year old from McGill, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK: City – the subjects were located and were fine.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: City – a man was reportedly wandering around a neighborhood.  Deputies located the man who was confused on how he got there and was very paranoid.  The male was later transported to the hospital for evaluation.

REPORT OF A SUICIDAL SUBJECT: City – the subject was contacted and claimed to be okay, with no thoughts of hurting themselves.  They were left in the company of a family member.

REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT: City – Gracian Uhalde, of Ely, struck two cars while attempting to park.  A citation was issued.

REPORT OF AN ARREST: City – 30 year old Jordan Ulysses Edmo, of Ely, was arrested after being stopped while he was driving with a revoked license.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: The subject was located and just claimed to be looking for a friend’s house.

REPORT OF A JUVENILE PROBLEM: City – the reporting party claimed her child had been battered by another juvenile.  It was later discovered the two juveniles were horse playing.

REPORT OF STALKING: City – the reporting party claims to get repeated phone calls from a phone number.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF A BUSINESS ALARM: City – it was accidentally triggered by the owner.

SEPTEMBER 8 

REPORT OF A DISTURBANCE: City – a vehicle was reportedly causing a disturbance.  It was located and the deputy spoke to the driver and occupants.  One of the occupants was found to be under 18 years old, and it was after curfew.  The juvenile was released to her mother and the driver was issued a citation for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

REPORT OF AN ALARM: City – the building was checked and found to be secure.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – several juveniles were riding their bikes in an area of an apartment complex where they shouldn’t have been.  A resident of the complex yelled at them, and the children called 911 to tell on her.  The children were advised about the proper use of 911.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER: The deputy was unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

REPORT OF A VAGRANT: City – a male subject reportedly set up a camp in a vacant lot and planned to live there until April.  He was advised he couldn’t live there and he moved on.

REPORT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE: City – the reporting party claimed a vehicle backed into a light pole in the parking lot of her workplace, damaging the light pole.  The driver provided all of his information to the reporting party, before leaving.  A report was completed.

REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER: City – the vehicle was later located and the driver was warned about his driving.

SEPTEMBER 9 

REPORT OF A MUSIC DISTURBANCE: City – the establishment playing the music was contacted and they turned the music down.

REPORT OF A THEFT: The reporting party believed someone stole money from his garage.  He later called back and said he forgot he had moved the money.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – the reporting party is the owner of a local motel and claimed a tenant hadn’t paid and was refusing to leave.  Contact was made with the tenant, who left without incident.

REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT: City – the reporting party claimed someone dumped dirt and garbage on a vacant lot and it was beginning to block the alley.  Contact was made with the owner of the vacant lot and he was advised to clean up the garbage and clear the alley.

REPORT OF A SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT: City – the subject was contacted and he claimed to be waiting for a ride.

REPORT OF CHILD ABUSE: City – the reporting party received his children from his ex-wife and they claimed to have been battered by their mother.  The investigation continues.

REPORT OF PROPERTY DAMAGE: The reporting party claimed his truck window broke while he was driving.  Unknown what caused the damage.
