CALIENTE, Nev. – The Bureau of Land Management Ely District, Caliente Field Office is offering through a competitive sale nine parcels of public land totaling 296.09 acres located in Lincoln County, Nev.

The BLM is conducting the sale by sealed bid and oral public auction. The BLM must receive sealed bids by no later than 4:30 p.m., Pacific Time, Monday, Oct. 15, 2018. The sealed-bid envelope must contain the deposit and a completed and signed “Certificate of Eligibility” form stating the name, mailing address, and telephone number of the entity or person submitting the bid. Submit sealed bids through the U.S. Postal Service to the BLM Caliente Field Office, P.O. Box 237, Caliente, Nev. 89008, Attn: Land Sales. Federal Express and UPS mailings should be directed to the BLM Caliente Field Office, 1400 South Front Street, Caliente, Nev. 89008, Attn: Land Sales. Resubmit any returned bids/comments on the proposed sale using the addresses above. The BLM will open sealed bids prior to the oral public auction scheduled at 1 p.m., Pacific Time, Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018, at the Caliente Railroad Depot, 100 Depot Avenue, in Caliente. Registration begins at noon.

The BLM is conducting the sale in accordance with Public Law 108-424, Lincoln County Conservation, Recreation, and Development Act of 2004. The sale complies with the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 and is in conformance with the 2008 Ely Resource Management Plan.  Five percent of the proceeds will go to the Nevada State General Education Fund, ten percent to Lincoln County, and the remaining 85% will be deposited into a special account to be used for protection of archaeological and natural resources, recreation and wilderness planning, and other opportunities in Lincoln County.
