The new flagship site of the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows celebrated the grand opening recently at the middle school.

The Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows serving White Pine County celebrated the grand opening for its flagship site at the middle school.

More than 50 people attended this opening in merriment for youth & teens in the area.

The club also hosts programs at the elementary schools in McGill, David E. Norman in addition to the White Pine High School location, serving more than 65 youth and teens daily.

Members at these locations participate in various activities in the Clubs five core areas. These include: the arts; sports, fitness & recreation; character & leadership; health & life skills; and education and career development. The Boys & Girls Club in White Pine County serves youth ages 5-12 and teens ages 13-15.

The clubs next venture is a remodel of a dedicated space at White Pine High School. This renovation will include adding carpet to a portion of the room, painting, adding counter height table and chairs and expanding the social scene for the teens at the high school. This project is expected to be complete this spring.

The program does not turn away any family due to financial reasons.

The Boys & Girls in Ely officially opened in June of 2017 and has been growing ever since.
