Sheila Janell Bogoger

Sheila Janell Bogoger, 68, of McGill, Nevada passed away unexpectedly early December 23, 2018 at her step father’s home.

Sheila was born January 22, 1950, to Ardith James and William C. Phillips in Ukiah, California. In 1966 her family moved to B&W Livestock Ranch outside of McGill. In1968 she married Steve S. Sankovich, graduated White Pine County High School and started a family having two daughters.

She started out as a devoted housewife and mother while being an Avon Representative on the side. After her divorce, Sheila was employed as a Bank Teller, then a Mine Lab Tech. Insistent on pushing herself, she fearlessly promoted to Haul Truck Driver before becoming a Correctional Officer, then advancing to Case Worker at the Ely State Maximum Security Prison; where she met, then later married William “Bill” Bogoger on 11/15/1997. Sheila eventually retired from Ely State Prison before receiving a double lung transplant on 11/13/2008.

Sheila loved being a member of the McGill Rebekah Lodge #30 since 1970. She proudly held positions of Guardian, Conductor, Warden, Vice Grand, and in 1977 Noble Grand. At the time of her death she held the elected position of treasure. She liked to travel, garden, fish, and go four wheel riding. She loved hummingbirds, plants, the beach and ocean, being with her family and reminiscing of growing up and time spent in Fort Bragg, California.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Ardith Wing, Mother and William and Charlotte Phillips, Father and Step Mother, her twin sister Sharlene Grant, brother in law John Grant, and her great granddaughter Brooklyn Ingle.

Sheila is survived by; her husband William R. Bogoger, Step Father Lewis O. Wing, Daughters Janie (Scott) Trujillo, Kaylene (Rick Hansen) Sankovich. She is also survived by Brothers; Shawn (Maureen) Phillips, Lewis “Bud” (Linn) Wing Jr, and Ronnie Bartell, her sisters; Shannon (Chuck) Lanier, Shelly (Dan) Albro, and Peggy Wing. Grandchildren; Scott (Danielle Bay) Trujillo, Jared Trujillo, Cierre (Billy Leung) Trujillo, Abriana Trujillo, Taylor Ingle, and Joel (Christian) Fischer, great grandchildren; Christian, Makenley and Mila Trujillo, and Andy Fischer, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and some very amazing friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the McGill Fire Hall January 4, 2019 at 1:00 PM.
