Maria Bliss was arrested on Friday, Jan. 11, on charges of child neglect and obstructing a peace officer. Bail has been set at $20,000 and Bliss is still in custody.

Bliss is the mother of child Alyahna Bliss, who passed away on Thursday, Jan. 10. Bliss also has three other children.

This isn’t Bliss’s first arrest. She was arrested previously in May of 2017 on a DUI, and in November of 2017 for the charges of child endangerment and disturbing the peace. The charge of child endangerment was dismissed, and Bliss was ordered to attend parenting courses.

A gofund me account has been set up to assist Alyahna’s father Matt Bliss, to help pay for the funeral expenses. A candlelight vigil for Alyahna will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Calvary Church located at 701 Ave. M at 7 p.m.
